Then I found out that it just disappears within an hour or so causing me to carry it with me and reapplying constantly throughout the day/night. It is NOT sharpenable (is that a word?!) at all! I'm always on the look out for liners - some are too greasy and some pencils just don't have enough moisture in them to line a lid with. . . however, this Julep gel liner is the best of both - when sharpened it can give you a very thin line and it you want a little more color - just smudge. There is no tugging and or pulling on the eyelid (and for me that's important as I'm a 'woman of a certain age' where my lids and most everything else is falling) so it's important to be able to pull your eye taut and let the pencil do the work. Very happy with these pencils. This is my second purchase. First one a navy blue and its my go to. This one however is too bright, much brighter than color appears in photo here.

Love the gel feel of this eye liner. It glides on smooth and makes an easy cat eye. Not sure its smudge proof or water resistant. Maybe I didn't let it dry long enuff before rubbing my finger across the liner to see if it smudged or not. I got the purple and love the color on my brown eyes. I'd recommend becuz of how pretty the color is, and how easily it glides on. Its a very pretty liner and easy to use. ... show more

I don't usually buy make up online - but this looked like what I wanted - and it is!!! I got the taupe shimmer and just ordered 2 more... They go on so nicely and smooth, adds just a little shimmer - exactly what I wanted... I layered it over another color too - works so well!

This is a great consistency and really nice looking. The only complaint is that it is really dark. It is black with a hint of purple. Not purple like it is pictured.

I love the sparkle in it! I bought as a dupe for the Areceli gel eyeliner brand that I fell in love with because of its shimmer. I found this one had the same qualities I loved from the Areceli brand for half the cost and couldn’t be happier! I don’t tend to spend so much money on a makeup sharpener. However, I gave this one a chance because the ones I had weren’t any good. I do agree that this Julep makeup sharpener does it’s job really well in sharpening my lip liners without eating them so much since it doesn’t break the tip so easily like other sharpeners tend to do. I like that it has a bottom casing where it catches the shavings. Now the one part I didn’t liked was the clean up afterwards. It’s not easy even with the extra tool that it comes with which it’s supposed to help pick up the gunk left. I had to use a q-tip to somewhat clean it better. Anyways, I would like get an extra one of these though since it does work better than majority of makeup sharpeners out there. Price is pretty hefty though. ... show more
