I love this thing. We adopted a rescue mutt. He is adorable, but he loves to jump and chew on everything within a tooth’s reach and can be stubborn and doesn’t want to listen. We had tried training at a local pet store and made some progress, but some behaviors were stubborn. He seemed to laugh at other devices we tried to use. They had no effect on him. This one was effective right out of the box. A low vibration or beep would immediately grab his attention and get him to stop his behavior or comply. One time he escaped me when we were out in the yard and he was running away. I was worried he would run in the street and get hit. When my usual attempts to recall him failed, I quickly push the button on vibrate and it stopped him. He came back to me immediately when I called after that. in that regard, it could be a literal lifesaver. We’ve had it a few weeks now, and it is life-changing. We are all happier, including our sweet pup. I wish I had known about this as soon as we brought him home from the rescue. It would’ve saved us all frustration. We have not used the shock feature and have not had reason to because the low-level vibration or beep works like a charm. It has a long battery, too. Now if I can just figure out how to affectively charge it! ... show more

This collar has been a huge blessing. I have a Australian shepherd mix puppy. He was fine being loose until he got to be about 5 months old, at this point he was more than I could handle ( I'm full time crutch user) so I had to start tying him up. This changed his behavior. I knew I had to find a way to let him have freedom to run and get his exercise or as he aged knew would run off every chance he could .I learned this lesson in past and didn't want to repeat. Jugbow collar has given my dog freedom with safety. I love all the different settings. He responds well to just the vibration so I actually took off the prongs to shock. If ever needed I can put them back on. The collar is made heavy duty and the clip is easy to snap and secure. The remote has a strap for your wrist, I may end up getting one for neck in the future for ease for myself because of crutches. My old shock collar in years past didn't have this and I was always looking for it. Love the army green color it matches his camo and orange harness and collar. The battery life is great on both remote and collar. I to love I don't have to mess with a tie out cable to trip over. He is trained from collar so even when he doesn't have it in for quick outdoor task he listens. I keep it on him in the day so whenever we go out he is safe even tho I don't even need to use it often it's there if I need to..the collar is what gave me the upper hand to achieve his good behavior. Collar works awesome! My dog responded immediately to the the beep and vibration . Only had to use shock once to correct bad behavior before he recognized the beep and complied with verbal command. Set up was really easy.

I have a 10lb mini Maltipoo and was hesitant about this collar because it seemed like it was used for large dogs. I am glad I took the time to read through several reviews until I found one that talked about using it successfully on a smaller dog. Also, I purchased this collar with the hope of stopping my small dog from barking constantly, and it has been very effective for that purpose. Therefore, my review speaks to that particular use and not to other training purposes. Pros: Collar is easy to cut to size for a 10lb dog and the unit itself is not too large for a dog that size. Note, because he wears it most of the day and I don’t want it to be uncomfortable for him, I don’t have it very tight so it sometimes moves off to the side but it is nonetheless effective. Note: this collar needs to be activated with the handheld remote so the pet owner needs to be diligent to use correction as soon as the dog barks. The three training modes are clearly marked and it is easy to quickly switch from vibe or tone to shock (if needed) There are many levels of correction to choose from (see also cons below) and I have had to use it on shock at the lowest setting only a handful of times. Most of the time the vibe does the job. Con: The only negative I have found is that the adjustment for switching the correction levels is not super intuitive and takes some getting used to. Also, when switching the shock level, if the setting is on ‘1’ and knob is accidentally turned just one click the wrong way (which is counterclockwise) you will jump from 1 to 99! I think the only option for adjusting the shock level should be to go up incrementally because if you turned it one click and didn’t look at the screen, rather than going from 1 to 2, you would go from 1 to 99 and give your dog a terrible jolt without intending to. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it if you have a small dog who barks at every leaf that flutters by the window, or sound he may hear, real or imagined 😏 ... show more

I like the functionality of this product, it has a beep, vibrate, and shock function. It says there are 99 shock levels but in actuality there’s about 25-30 and there’s really no difference in intensity beyond that. The 7 different beep sounds are good if your pet doesn’t respond to a certain one, you can change it. I bought this product 7 months ago and haven’t had to charge it yet which means the battery life is excellent. Perfect size for my 60lb dog. And for $50 it does the same thing as the SportDog brand that retails for around $160. Great value for money. ... show more
