Although the lead-acid battery industry wants you to believe Lithium Iron Phosphate (LIFEPO4) are not for starting engines I have several in service. You just need to verify that the Lithium battery has a BMS which can supply sufficient surge current for a few seconds at the start. This product states it’s BMS can do 100 amps continuously, 200 for a long surge and 300 for less than 5 seconds which is sufficient for a properly running mid size truck engine or smaller. Of course you need to check case dimensions and may need to adapt the battery cable terminals to connect to the battery which was the case here (the 3/8x16 side terminals on the cables needed to be adapted to mate with the 5/16 battery terminals). I originally ordered 2 of these to attempt to replace the 24v batteries that had failed in my UPS. This did work with 2 in series, although the estimated run time and battery status wasn’t very accurate. I don’t fault the battery at all since it’s due to the way LiFePo discharges vs what the UPS is expecting from the previous lead acid battery for its calculations. Due to this I don’t think I will use these in a UPS application and keep them for other 12v projects. The battery is super lightweight, so nice for projects that are portable. I did a test by putting a 1A load on the 120v ups and it lasted for 1hr 10min. The batteries were in 24v series, which is right at the runtime I’d expect from them. Overall, I think the case construction is good, Ah rating is accurate, and it’s super lightweight. I’d much rather keep these around vs the old heavy batteries I used to use. ... show more

Bought 4 of these 300AH batteries. Updated 1/31/24 : since my initial complaint below, they have added info for the BMS app to the product description - thank you. Batteries are packaged well and came with 50% charge on all (perfect for extended storage of LifePo4 batteries) Purchased to replace an aging AGM banked off grid cabin system at end of its life. They appear to be a quality build and my only negative so far is that they do not have cold temp shut down protection. I plan on using some of my older AGM batteries dedicated to thermostat controlled heating pads for these new batteries, but in my opinion, onboard temperature protection should be included on "ALL" LifePo4 batteries to protect your investment. These will be installed in March and I will update further. Original 1 star comment: Advertised a Bluetooth BMS app but has no reference to a download, app name or even a QR code. Nothing on their website and zero reply from support via email or FB. Why is nothing packed with the product? Ridiculous! ... show more

Nice battery. I am using two batteries in parallel to run a diesel heater. They have no problem starting the heater (120watts for 4 minutes). After startup, I ran the heater on low for two hours with no problems

    • DO NOT charge this 24V 100AH LiFepo4 unattended

This 24V 100AH LiFePO4 battery accepts charge from Renogy 100A MPPT charger and provides power to a 24V 3000W pure sinewave inverter. However, as the battery charging reaches around 28.3V, the BMS shuts the battery down, not providing any voltage to MPPT charger which requires a battery voltage presence at all time, hence the MPPT charger output went berserk and screaming battery error, while the power inverter was barking battery error at the same time. Turn off the MPPT charger and let the battery BMS recover itself and started to delivery power, turn the MPPT charging back on, and the BMS shuts itself down as it approach full charge, both the MPPT charger and the inverter were screaming again, highly repeatable, and may damage the charger, inverter and equipments if it happens too often. Seller approved the return, but said buyer pays for return shipping, which is over $500 according to USPS shipping calculator for 50LB from east coast to west coast. Contacted Amazon before the purchase and assured me that I can free return the 50LB item through their channels, now they are saying that its between me and the 3rd party seller. ... show more
