    • Almost perfect--lacking in key HDMI 2.1 functionality

Purchased this dock to connect my ROG Ally X to my LG C1 OLED TV, hoping to establish a 4k@120Hz connection. The dock worked phenomenally out of the box, and I was able to connect my Ally X at that resolution and framerate. Disappointingly, the dock does not support 10-bit color at 4k@120Hz in SDR nor does it support VRR with the Ally. Using HDR resulted in 8-bit color "with dithering" which was a bit more disappointing. Dropping down to 60Hz did achieve 10-bit color in SDR as would be expected out of an HDMI 2.0 connection. Connecting the Ally X through a TB4 cable to my 4K OLED monitor, I am able to achieve 10-bit color at 4K@240Hz in HDR. While the product specs only mention supported resolutions and framerates, I suspect the dock does not include a full-spec HDMI 2.1 connection despite what the product image and JSAUX's own website report. I'm gonna give the more expensive version one final go to see if it fits my (admittedly niche) needs, but that one does report VRR support which makes me hopeful. ... show more

Bought this for my ROG Ally X since the USB ports are only on the left side and my older dock’s cable wouldn’t reach. Everything works including the HDMI to my 1440p 120hz monitor (I don’t have a 4K high refresh rate monitor to test) and also with fast charging and the 30w turbo mode on the Ally X. Have had no issues with this dock so far (but it’s also only been a week). I also like that the dock is two pieces and you can easily carry the back side of it in a bag to wherever you’re going. ... show more

I was under the assumption that this dock can do power pass through when you connect a 100w cable and adapter but that's totally wrong. In order for the ports on the back to work the usb c cable on the top has to be connected to a device or else the device ports won't work at all. You guys need to seriously read the manual. There is 2 usb type c ports. 1 is to utilize the 100 watt pdp. Yes this Supports the 30 Watt turbo for the Rog Ally X. Yes this dock can go to 120 hertz. Look at photo’s for proof. Seriously, how is everyone messing up so bad with this awesome dock.

Often when you plug it in, the Ally X just doesn't recognize the charging. This leads to me having to unplug and replug it multiple times. Probably going to find a different dock for the Ally X unfortunately.

Everything is great about the this dock except two things which is why I took a star: 1. The base should’ve been a bit bigger and have a separate rubber that fits rog ally x. 2. Even for a bit more money, they should’ve added a 100w charger to it. You can use the charger that comes with the handheld but you need at least 100w charger to unlock its true dock performance.
