I haven't left for my trip yet but during unboxing I noticed some discoloration on the top of the cosmetic case. They are very sturdy, the zippers seem tough, and I think I'll be able to pack everything pretty full. I plan to carry my wallet and phone in the smaller purse and put it in the cosmetic case if they won't let me carry it seperate. I added photos of the discolored portion, the zippers and the clasps for the small purse. I'll probably test how packed I can fit stuff just in case ... show more

2024 Update: After having this set for less than a year and using it less than five times, the zippers on the medium and large suitcases broke and are now unusable. Very disappointed because I liked this set so much. This luggage set is amazing! It was a last minute purchase when I had to fly with a different airline that only allows one carry on and now this luggage set is all I use. I get tons of compliments on it and it is the perfect size for a weekend trip. I can usually fit everything I need to in here, including my 17" laptop. The cosmetic case is much larger than it seems and holds everything from my makeup to my curling iron and blow dryer. Would definitely recommend this. Only downsides I've noticed so far are scratching of the hard shell, which is expected with any suitcase and the handle isn't a sturdy as I would like, but has not been an issue and I've used this set three times in the last three weeks. ... show more

I liked the look of this luggage, but there was no information on weight, so I messaged the seller. They told me it's 5.6 lbs. I also noticed that the title said "Lightweight Polypropylene Carrying Case", one of the images said "Enhanced durable ABS materials", and in the product description, it said "Made of lightweight and durable 100% ABS material". So, I asked for clarification on what it's actually made of. They told me it's polypropylene and after I suggested changing their listing, they edited the product description but not the image. After I received the luggage, I noticed that there's no side handle even though they have images of the luggage with a side handle and they also have a video with the luggage I bought having a side handle. It's all just so sketchy. Who knows what else their pictures or product description lies about. Anyways, the luggage is fine. The wheels move really nicely and the TSA locks are nice and easy to work with. I've only ever had this one softshell luggage, so I didn't realize until now how much I dislike this type of classic clamshell opening, where the luggage opens into halves. I prefer having one deeper compartment. Also, I don't have a scale, so I can't confirm, but I don't know. My old luggage was bought in a set with another identical one; my mom has that and she weighed it for me at her house and told me it's 9.4 lbs. This one, however, which is supposedly 5.6 lbs didn't feel any noticeably lighter to me despite being clearly smaller. My old luggage is one of those "21 inch luggages" that are 21 inches without the wheels or handle. It's also wider than 14 and 9 inches on the other dimensions. Somehow, I haven't had a problem with it, but I do feel like I'd prefer a luggage that actually fits within regulations. That's one upside to this luggage. From my rough measurements using a tape measure, it's about 21 by 14.5 by 8.5 inches. I tried taking pictures, but it's hard without another person helping, and on the pictures, it doesn't seem right. I mean, if you look at the pictures of the top view, it looks like the shorter side goes from 0.5 to a little before 8, but I think it's just because of the curvature of the luggage. The unfortunate thing is that, with a luggage this small, you really can't fit as much stuff as I used to be able to in my older luggage, especially with it having no ability to expand, and also, I feel like the curvature of the outside makes it even smaller in the inside. In the end, I decided to return it and get a luggage from a more trustworthy seller that actually has a side handle and that has a deeper compartment like I prefer, so I couldn't test how well it performs on an actual trip. I did receive the other 2 pieces of the set along with the carry on, but I had no interest in those in the first place. Update: We got the Travelpro maxlite 21" spinner, which we measured with a balance to be 5.6 lbs. It feels really light. There is absolutely no way this joyway luggage was 5.6 lbs. ... show more
