I bought this one for it's storage capacity as well as the fact it didn't have "stick out" handles. I car camp so real estate is precious and this unit (only one I found without handles) fits perfectly in it's spot in my car. I plug it into 110 while in my apartment to get it down to correct temp, add small frozen water bottles & take it to my car when I'm ready to head out. I imagine a strong man could get this fully loaded to a car or truck, but I'm a petite woman and carrying it empty is all I'd ever attempt - without help from someone else. Items are loaded once it's in my car. I run it at 37F on 12-volt while driving which keeps everything nice and cold. When I stop for the night, I either run it from my power pack or just let it rest, knowing the frozen ice bottles will keep things cool overnight. The fridge returns to the preset temp once I start driving again. I think this is a perfect size and a wonderful price for the convenience of having cold food without the drippy mess of buying ice and then having soggy food all the time & the need to drain water from a cooler. I highly recommend this refrigerator/freezer/warmer. It's even been handy to have when I'm entertaining and have made more food than my apt fridge/freezer can hold. ... show more

    • Perfect for grocery runs

Update: After 18 months of flawless operation, the display went out. Joytutus wrote me back immediately and sent a replacement part that fixed the problem. I don’t believe Iceco or Dometic would have sent one at all especially after over a year and a half. Thanks Joytutus. —— Bought for rear of SUV 10 months ago. We use it to get our cold items home from the grocery every week or two. I hardwired my battery directly to the cooler using 10 AWG wire with an on/off switch on dash. It’s a great cooler as the reviews here show. It holds more for its size compared to other coolers available and its compartment is an excellent shape to efficiently pack a combination of groceries (gallons of milk, ice cream, chicken legs, etc) tightly in its small space. It cools from 85F to 25F before we’re done shopping and consumes about as many watts as other more expensive coolers (possibly slightly more). There are 2 issues with it: [1] About 20% of the time we completely fill it and must put a cold item or two separate to get home. This means we can’t stop for lunch on the way home sometimes. Almost wish we would have bought a slightly larger cooler. Other coolers (like 45L) seem to take up significantly more space however and really have only slightly more useable capacity. [2] The auto-shutoff is a problem. -First, the voltage reading on my cooler is off 0.32V (which might not be the case for others). -Second, the MED (10.1V) and LOW (9.6V) settings can’t be used with a regular lead acid car battery (but would work for a lithium-ion battery). -Third, on the HIGH auto-shutoff setting (11.3V), it turns off when only 35% of battery capacity is left if using the included cigarette lighter cord. This is not good for the battery. (It’s even less on my cooler because cooler’s voltage reading is off 0.32V). By comparison, HIGH on my Dometic cooler is 11.8V (which is 75%). -Since I don’t use the cigarette lighter cord very often because I hardwired directly with heavy wire, less than 18% battery capacity is remaining at auto shutoff. (This is due to less voltage drop with 10 AWG wire than with the 14 AWG cigarette lighter cord). It would have to be left on without starting the car for over 24 hours but a battery level this low is very bad for the battery. Otherwise it’s hard to beat especially for the cost; could buy 4 or 5 for what my Dometic 75L cost. ... show more

being a truck driver i wanted something to keep my drinks and food cold. this does the trick. i set it at 33 degrees and it keeps it there. i really like the low voltage cut out to save the batteries if i leave in plugged in for a few days while at home. it keeps temp for a good while when it shuts down or is unplugged. this will fit on the passenger seat and is quiet. you never hear it running.it will also fit between the seats on the floor, but kinda hard to get in the sleeper though. i have a T600 Kenworth. i would recommend this to any truck driver looking for a small fridge for their truck. dump the thermal electric, this is the way to go! ... show more
