Great under cabinet light. Power cord long enough for the run I needed with extra leftover. Warm light, not glaring. (Nice not to have to wear sunglasses in the morning while getting my first cup of coffee. ) Used both lights over sink. One was not quite bright enough. Motion sensor turns light on at least three feet away and turns off automatically after forty seconds. No need to "hand-wave" to turn on light. Managed to hide all the wiring as it wound through three cabinets. Also, it is "plug in". And, have I mentioned that the wife likes it ? ... show more

We put these in our food closet under the stairs as there was a plug but no lighting. We had a switched fluorescent up high, but had to turn it on when the kids wanted to find something as they couldn’t reach it. This lights their way without our help. Plenty bright enough for our purpose.

*edit: in less than a month the bulbs burnt out. Now I have to Uninstaller and throw them in the garbage. What a waste of time (to install them) and money. Do not order unless you want to use these for less than a month) Do not get if you want a long-lasting, permanent fixture for your kitchen. Or if you intend to use under the stairs The pros: *simple design, * low cost *bright yellow light, great for my eyes at night and in the evenings. * the motion sensors are great so far, and make it nice that you do not need to unplug and replug as needed. *packaged well * quick shipping The cons: * Not very detailed instructions (which are pretty much unneeded but I do see questions about using the motion sensor, so a guide would be helpful to some). ( when I originally wrote this review I was not even aware it came with instructions. I did not see them until I was breaking down the box, as the instructions are in the form of a sticker that is placed on the outside underside of the box) * screws are tiny, and easy to drop and lose. (You may need to buy a special bit or screwdriver to fit the screws it comes with.) * does not come with extra screws or brackets. (This is not a huge deal, but with the pieces being so tiny, and that we installed these in the kitchen, it is easy for a screw to fall and roll under a large appliance, in my case I had two screws roll under the refrigerator, and that was a pain to move and fetch the screws.) * cords for lights are really long (this is not so much a con, depending on your personal situation, with the layout of my kitchen I have a tom of cord that is bunched up and hard to hide, so it does not create the most seamless finish. Again this is more aesthetic than a problem with the lights themselves.) I am unsure how long these will last, but for under $20 dollars for two light strips, they will do just fine. Overall, I would purchase these again for a rental, temporary housing, a camper, or RV. However if I wanted a more permanent fixture in my own home I would look elsewhere and purchase a more permanent lighting kit, with better quality, and a more aesthetic design. FAQ: Long cords to run each light, (around 79 inches, ( or 6 feet 7 inches) just for the cords for each light, that is not counting the 59 inch (around 4 foot 11 inches) cord that comes attached to the electrical input clip for each light) The motion detection: * It was already working on my unit. In the questions and answers there is something about plugging into an input and output. My model ( Joosenlux X002RJ9U4Z) does not have any 'INPUT' 'OUTPUT' areas on any of the components that were included. However just plugging it in worked and motion detectors are working fine. * The motion detection on each light is independent, and there does not seem to be a way in which to turn the motion sensing off. I have not done any cooking under them, so I am not sure how sensitive they are, but simply running my hand under them causes them to turn on. * There is a slight delay when the lights power on and off, which is to be expected, but I wanted to throw that in there, in case any one wanted to know. * the lights seem to stay on for around 40 ish seconds, unless there is movement underneath them. Under stairs: The product description says it can be used under stairs, I personally would not. The brackets are weak and would not hold up to being nudged accidently with the. top of a foot. The screws are also to small to reliably hold the light in place, in a high traffic area. When the lights fell off they would be easily broken. They are very thin, and seem delicate, an accidental yank on the cord, or being stepped on would probably break them. The cords are too long, and cumbersome for me to feel comfortable running them stairs where someone could easily trip if a cord came loose from being tied back. the motion sensing light delay may cause someone to be unable to see in the dark as they walk down the stairs and only the lights behind them turn on, creating a dark shadow in front of where they would be stepping. *****The recommended videos at the bottom of this listing are NOT for this product, to avoid confusion only look at the reviews, This unit is not dimmable, there is no way to turn motion sensing off, the motion sensors on each light are independent from eachother, and this model does not come with a remote.)****** Make sure you plan out how you want to run the wires before you begin installing. (Find a wall plug that you are okay dedicating to these lights, one white cord "input" component can fit 3 strands of lights, so keep that in mind when deciding where to place your strips.) Also plan which way your wires face for more seamless securing. If you purchase this you will probably need: A number 1 drill bit, or screwdriver (that can be removed from the handle) (we already had an electronic screwdriver set, that had the perfect sized bit (which we stripped put installing these so don't get too attached), If you don't have one I would purchase one of the $7 - $15 dollar sets on Amazon, because a regular Phillips is going to be way too big) A drill, that is adjustable to fit the small bit/ screwdriver. A pack of zip ties. Wall clips/ cable clips to secure excesixties. (we used small binder clips, as I didn't have any wall clips, but wall clips, or cable clips would create a more seamless finish) Scissors to cut the ends off the zipties. Pen or marker to indicate where to put the screws. The installation is a little tedious with the small screws and bits, but it is pretty straightforward. First remove all components from the box, plug the black light cables into the white "input" box Keep in mind ypur placement, figure put where you want the lights, and how you plan to secure your wires before beginning Then plug in the large circular black plug that is attached to the white "input" box to the black circular fitting that is located on the actual plug. Plug it in and insure it works. If it does unplug the wall adapter, and the white "input box" from the wall adapter unit. DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE LIGHT STRIPS FROM THE WHITE INPUT BOX THEY ARE VERY FRAGILE AND YOU COULD DAMAGE THEM Mark where you want your light strips to go next get 1 screw and 1 clip. Make sure the clip is pointing so the "legs" are facing down. ( it should make a 'n' shape as opposed to a 'u' shape.) With the drill, or screwdriver, drill or screw the screw ( with the clip already attached) into place. Repeat this for all light strip clips. Once this is done snap the lightstrips into place (it helps to tilt them a little and secure one side before starting on the other.) Plug everything back in Follow the manufacturers directions on your wall or cable clips to secure and tuck the excess cables. ... show more

It actually works well. It's the only under-cabinet light I found that turns itself off automatically. The little phillips screws that hold the little brackets strip easily so I had to substitute a slot screw for one of them. I had to drill holes first, otherwise I would have stripped all the screws. The wall plug attaches to a large plastic splitter that the lights plug into. The splitter and the large amount of wire are hard to hide. ... show more
