I've been needing a good rug for my living area. I'm kinda picky and have been intermittently looking here and there, but always came up short and never found one that appealed to the style I wanted. I sorta gave up and had a bare floor for 6 months. THEN I saw THIS rug. It arrived in perfect condition and after stacking some board games along the corner for a night to flatten it out, the result is a beautiful rug that went well with my mid century modern theme. Now, I was going back and forth between the 4x6 and the next size up--the 5x8, but I eventually went with the 4x6 black and cream color combo. This turned out to be THE BEST decision for my smaller area. The 5x8 size would have overwhelmed the floor, and the look would have been horrendous, lol. The rug is also bright on gloomier days. I took the pictures during a highly overcasted sky at noon, but the rug is bright under those conditions as you can tell. One thing I'd like to note is that the black fibers is all black through and through, which I was pleased about. I mention this because there are rugs where the design is SPRAY PAINTED on and the fibers aren't the same color all the way through. I always try to avoid those rugs at all cost because they are just low quality cheap junk that have no place on the market, however, it makes its way here anyway! I originally purchased this rug for my bedroom but seeing as it was way too large, I opted for my living room instead of returning it. Initially I didn’t like the tone of the cream color because I have a lot of stark white in my home but I actually love that off white of this area rug because it does add balance and interest. I’ve read other reviews about the black being too deep, but that’s actually why I bought this rug, seemed like other prints were too grey toned and I was seeking out for something more bold. This rug is beautiful, it’s not very cushioning but I expected that with the “pile” it is-not a huge concern for me personally. The other reviews talked about the rippling, yes it doesn’t lay super flat but as you can see, I have a bunch a heavy chunky furniture to hold it down, so it’ll do for my space. I probably wouldn’t purchase this one again based on the rippling but it is a beautiful pattern and compliments my home quite nicely. 4 out of 5 stars. Good price for what you get. Well made rugs and looks great. It comes rolled up and says after a couple of days it will lay flat. I have had it on the floor for several weeks now and the wrinkles have not all settled, but that is my only negative. The directions say if the wrinkles don’t come out after a week try back rolling the rug. I haven’t done that yet. The rug is in my guest bedroom so hasn’t been a high priority. ... show more

The rug is superthin but that is not a bad thing for a dining room rug. The chairs do not sink in the rug and slide nicely. I love the colors of the rug.
