We are always looking for fun games to keep the nieces and nephews occupied when they come to visit. I remembered playing with these basket launchers when I was a kid and I immediately knew that these were surefire fun times! These are a much smaller than the versions I played with way back when. For me, that makes them easier to store and easier for the littlest ones to play with. You get four baskets, each of which comes in two parts that are easily put together with a single twist. The baskets come in two different colors so that you can either play as teams or as single players. You get 20 little plastic balls that you can shoot out of your basket with the simple trigger and then either catch it again or it can be caught by one of the other players. There are no set rules, you can make up your own games as you go along – which was one of the great appeals when we used to play with them. What can be better for kids than games that the kids make up the rules and don’t have to be dictated to by adults? One child can play alone or you can involve up to four players. This is an outdoor toy because the balls can be launched for quite a distance. It’s great for backyards, front yards, beaches, picnics, etc. These are fun for any kid who can handle them and I would suggest that parents monitor play to make sure that the balls are launched to be caught and not to be used as weapons! When we played with these in the olden days the balls were plain old ping pong balls but these are a little bit smaller and a little bit harder so a hit in the wrong place could cause some pain. Very giftable, the colors are mellow yellow and a light baby blue which does suggest a perfect item for an Easter basket; but, really, these can be given at any time or for any holiday. Kids as young as three can play if they can handle the trigger and kids of any age will have fun trying to shoot and catch. This is one of those old-fashioned toys that are both fun and can help kids improve hand to eye coordination. ... show more

My 7yo daughter loved to play with a similar set with her occupational therapist. They really help with hand eye coordination amongst other things. We now practice with this set at home and she does nothing but giggle. Great floor game for both indoors and outdoors. Just make sure youre in a space where you're able to keep track of where the balls roll off to. ... show more

This was a frustrating outdoor toy for children age 6-10 yrs and adults. The hand held “catcher” design with a small piece of plastic to launch the ball causes the ball being received in the device to bounce out of the catcher. Children and adults rarely caught a ball (1 in 30 tries). The end result was everyone agreeing that this was not fun game and quitting. ... show more
