  • ENGINE CYLINDER LEAKAGE TEST: JIFETOR cylinder leak gauge set is designed to detect a variety of common engine faults including: worn piston rings, worn valves, cracks in cylinder walls and blown head gaskets. Available with either single gauge shows % of cylinder leakage, or twin gauge manifold show cylinder leakage and cylinder pressure. Suitable for any gasoline engine with 14, 12 or 10mm spark plugs. The % gauge is a precise instrument, please handle it with care
  • WORKING PRINCIPLE OF LEAKDOWN DETECTOR: Once the leakage tester has been connected to one of the cylinders, compressed air (45-100psi) is fed into that particular cylinder through the built in pressure regulator. Diagnosis is made by observing the amount of leakage that is indicated on the cylinder leakage gauge and by listening for leakage at various points of the cars system. Please note: This cylinder leak tester is not suitable for shallow cylinder.
  • DUAL PRESSURE GAUGES ASSEMBLY: There are American style air plug, pressure regulating valve, aluminum manifold body, cylinder pressure gauge, cylinder leakage gauge, 19" long rubber nylon resin hose with quick coupler on the assembly. The two gauges adopt rubber cover protected 3" large dial, the pressure gauge with scale range 0-100psi/0-7bar, and the leakage gauge with color coded range marked with HIGH MODERATE LOW SET.
  • 3 ADAPTERS AND OTHER PARTS: There are 3 sizes adapters brass coated aluminum 14mm(fixed on a 10" long hose), aluminum 12mm and 10mm (both can be connected to 14mm adapter), can help to test the gasoline engine with 10 12 14mm spark plugs. The instruction has detailed introduces about notification, connection method, operation steps, fault diagnosis, please read it carefully first. Customized blow molding case keeps everything in place and protects the gauges during storage.

I checked out reviews on many leakdown testers on Amazon and could not find one with consistently good ratings. I suspect that many of the poor ratings were due to mishandling of the device (it's easy to blow out 1 or both gauges if you don't follow the proper procedure) but there were also many seemingly legit complaints about flimsy parts and poor quality. I spotted this tester by jifitor, newly released and with 0 reviews. It was in the lower price range so I thought I'd take a shot and be the first one to review (you're welcome). This tester is everything i hoped it would be. The body is a nice solid chunk of metal and the gauges are good size with protective rubber sleeves over them. There is a quick connector for the air inlet that fit my compressor, although there are many different connectors and you may have to switch it. The hose and adapters for the spark plug hole fits both usual sizes for cars and also the smaller 10mm for motorcycles. Would have liked this hose to be a bit longer - might be a pain for big block v8's. One very good thing about this unit was the clear and comprehensive instructions. It clearly states the warning about turning the regulator on the unit to 0 before connecting the air line to avoid damage and it also shows a long list of possible causes of air escaping from different parts of your engine. If I had never used a LD tester before I believe I could have followed these instructions and had no trouble. Like everything made these days it comes in a blow-molded case (I have a tall stack of such cases in my garage) but anything with gauges should be kept in a case. Overall this is a perfect tester for a casual user or even a shop that might use it once or twice a week. The regulator knob is plastic and it might survive a drop or 2 but I wouldn't want to chance that. I fed in 95 psi from my compressor and it worked fine. In conclusion if you need a leakdown tester I would recommend this one. I just hope you have better luck with your engine than I did (air blowing out oil dipstick engine has to come out) ... show more

From all the photos of all the leakdown testers, almost all appeared to be the same manufacturer. And yet, all had different reviews. This one did not have all 5 star reviews BUT in EVERY case where there was a product issue, they were more than willing to step in a work with the customer to resolve it. This was the case with me. The threads on the spark plug hose were a little off and one letter, with a reply within an hour or so, got the offer for a return or a replacement hose. I picked the hose and this second one looked much, much nicer than the original. I will highly recommend ordering this tester exclusively from JEFETOR as their customer service has really been better than almost any Amazon vendor I've worked with. I'll say thanks to them for how they handled a product that was, most likely, manufactured somewhat out of their immediate control to make it right for me and others. Again, a 5 star rating, somewhat for their product but certainly for their customer service. ... show more

The leakdown tester seems to work alright HOWEVER if you use the 12" extension hose as the instructions recommend, you will not get an accurate reading. The orifice on the 12" hose is too small, even running a test (after calibrating the gauges) while not connected to a spark plug hole the gauge will not read 100% leakage. This can be seen in the attached picture. If you rig the tool together without the 12" extension the gauge seems accurate, and will show 100% leakage. So my take away is that this is a good tool, but the accessories need to be improved for accurate readings. And I would recommend not to use the 12" extension as this will skew your results. ... show more

I plugged the tester into my air hose and set the gauge in the yellow set zone. Then I plugged in the adapter that would go into your spark plug hole, but i had it hooked to nothing, and it only would read between 70 and 80% leak down. It should have read 100% leak down because all the air is escaping with no restriction at all. So if this was used on an engine, it might show in the yellow moderate leakage zone on the gauge, when in fact it could be 100% leak down. I'm not very impressed with its accuracy, not to mention the quick coupler fitting leaked really bad. The fitting wasn't tight, so I put thread tape on it and tightened it up, and it was still leaking, but from another spot. I then had to tighten the top part of the quick coupler, and the leak quit.
