The media could not be loaded. These pads were budget priced compared to other name brands. They are of high enough quality to protect your wrists, elbows, and knees from injury during a hard fall. They are definitely not of the highest quality (the name brands are more expensive because they are more durable and longer lasting; some, like the Triple 8 knee pads have replaceable shells over the pads.) As a middle-aged, first-time skateboarder, these gave me confidence to keep practicing after my falls. Every time I fell while wearing them, I was unharmed and able to get right back on the board. The pads stay in place and are adjustable to keep them secure without being to tight. I was surprised to find that they didn’t inhibit my movements at all; I mostly forgot I was wearing them until I fell. And then I was very grateful to have avoided injury. If budget is a concern, buy these. If you have plenty of money to invest, go for the more durable Triple 8’s. But these have worked just fine for me. I am 100lbs and 5’ 1” and bought the adult size. They also fit my boyfriend who is 5’ 11” and about 150lbs. I’ll be buying him a set too. Good value for the price. Good fit for a range of body sizes. Stable and secure, no mobility restriction. I bought this gear after spending 25 bucks on way lower quality stuff at my local sporting goods store. As an avid motorcyclist, I am somewhat of a gear nazi, and I recently bought some roller skates to get some excersize and keep my muscles conditioned during the 'off season' (which, in California really only means 'fewer track days'). Anyway, this stuff is way nicer than the first set of gear. I'm 5'6 about 150 pounds and it all fits very well. It isn't very breathable, but the coverage is excellent. I like that aside from the armor shells, there is also a good layer of foam padding that helps absorb impact and provide a little extra coverage area around and under the shell. I really don't feel like I need the velcro, but its nice to reinforce it. Everything stays in place nicely and I feel very well protected in the event of crash. The material also feels pretty well made. Decent seam work and comfortable material. It isn't the most breathable stuff, but it gets the job done. If you're looking for comfortable gear on a budget that provides good coverage (as opposed to barely fitting over the kneecape or elbow) you really can't go wrong with this stuff. ... show more

I bought these for my teenager who does a lot of extreme sports, including skateboarding, bmx and scooter tricks. He kept coming home all banged up and although I realize that a scratch here and there isn't a big deal I was concerned that the way he was falling was going to lead to some broken bones. I bought this pack of protective gear and it was exactly what I was looking for, not only does it include the standard knee and elbow pads that you would expect but it came with a third component, the hand guards. That is what really set this pack apart for me, all of the gear is high quality, durable and comfortable but the hand guards help support his wrists and keep his palms from getting cut up. The best part is that with all the gear included in this pack on my teen, he is still able to move freely and do all of the activities he enjoys without any issues. ... show more

Great price for all three items and they are well made. All 3 items have rounded surfaces which allow you to slide if you fall to lessen the impact. Strong and abundant velcro. The only drawback is one size only for adults. I am 5' 5" (female), 150 LBS. The knee guards are a bit roomy in the cup but work well. They have strong elastic that goes all around your knee as well as 2 velcro straps. The top of the knee pad hits 3" above my knee where my leg is 16" around and it's pretty tight. Any tighter and I would want to return. The elbow and wrist guards fit just fine. I got the all black because it goes with everything. ... show more

    • The Seem to Run Small

I bought the adult size for myself to use for inline skating outdoors. The items all fit pretty tight, especially at the start. The velcro tabs on the wrist guards as simply too short. There are three of them. The one in the middle is actually good and long enough; if it wasn't, I would not be able to use the wrist guard at all. The other two (outside) straps are simply far too short. They barely connect to the velcro. I do wonder, if I fall, will they even hold, because they have such a limited overlap. The knee and elbow pads slide over your hands. (Remember to put the knee pads on before putting on the skates!) When I first put them on, they were quite tight. By the time I finished my first 20 minutes or so of skating, I think they had loosened up a little. And, so, THAT makes me worry that over time they are going to stretch too much, if they loosened up that quickly. I would much rather see at least the knee pads to use velcro, like the wrist protector. Long story short; i.e., the tl;dr that I should have listed at the top, is that I'm going to continue looking for a quality set. The problem for me is that I like red, which seems hard to find. P.S. I am about 5'10" tall. I don't think my forearms are that big that the wrist protector straps should be too short. ... show more
