I bought one of these as a gift for my son for Christmas a couple years ago. He recently moved into a new house, and I was doing some work there. He offered to let me use his FLIP 5 speaker to listen to some podcasts. I. Was. Amazed! My expectations for any of these little "pill-shaped" speakers were pretty low, but I was completely blown away by the quality and range of the sound from the FLIP 5! I have an iPod HiFi in my garage I've used for years, and it's solid, but it also weighs a good 20 pounds. I got my own FLIP 5 for Christmas this year, and I use it all the time. I continue to be amazed at how good it sounds, how well it works, and how long it lasts before a charge. JBL has always been a quality brand to me, but this just makes that opinion even more solid. Great sound, love it! It's blue tooth is kinda shaky though, it wasn't connecting very well, some apps from my computer it could barley connect to at all. Outside of that, it's charge lasted long and sounds great!

I've been using this speaker for years in my shower. I've banged it around, I've dropped it, I've gotten shampoo in it, and it's survived it all easily. I've always been impressed with the battery life. The sound quality is good. I like the buttons on it so I can change songs and volume without my phone nearby. The bluetooth range is pretty good too, so I don't have to worry about keeping my phone close to it. The speaker has been very reliable and a big source of joy during my showers. After several years of heavy use, I'm starting to see the battery life decrease a little bit which is to be expected. So I ordered a replacement speaker while they were on sale. I'll probably continue to use my original speaker in another area of my house because it still works pretty well even though it's beginning to reach the end of its life. There are very few products that I am a loyal customer of. But this speaker? I love it. Several years from now when my replacement speaker is wearing out, I'll probably come back and purchase this same speaker for the third time. ... show more
