I've done a number of audio upgrades to numerous vehicles in the past, so I am no stranger to a simple speaker swap. Given the weird speaker size in the C pillars of the PT Cruiser, I found these. My first time using JBL for audio. But the price was right, and reviews were solid. The quality has not dissappointed, they feel of solid quality like they should last. The sound quality has a nice well rounded sound stage - perfectly adequate for the rear of the vehicle. Mine are powered by a 4 channel kicker crossover amplifier and not the head unit, so with the volume up they are nice and punchy with no distortion of muddy audio. Sound is nice and clear throughout the volume range. Installation was a breeze, they fit right in with a few millimeters to spare on the magnet and a support beam on the body of my vehicle. The only downside (if you can call it one) is there were no included wires with the speakers. Usually when I buy Sony/Pioneer/Infinity they always come with 2 pairs of wires I can plug into the speakers and crimp onto the existing harness. No big deal, I just soldered the wires directly for a secure connection. If you're on the fence about these, they are great speakers and worth taking a punt on them. I have no experience with them being driven by the head unit, but by an amplifier they are great. ... show more

Sound is much improved over stock 07 Focus front speakers. Once you get your EQ dialed in, they sound great. Not as loud as I was expecting, but still excellent for the money. Anyone who says these sound bad or tinny probably got the polarity mixed up when installing (out of phase speakers sound really bad). ... show more

Ordered these due to one of my 2000 Town car's speaker being damaged. They dropped right in and holes lined up with holes in rear deck. I was curious how much better these were so I only replaced the damaged one first and flipped between right and left speaker. At first I was not impressed with the JBL sound was lower than stock speaker not by a lot but noticeable. The JBL seemed a little lacking in bass but the mid and highs were there better than the stock speaker. I than replaced both speakers with the JBL's. With both in I could notice the improvement of the mid's and high's this is coming from 60 year old man ears. What I noticed is the longer I played them the better they seemed to sound and the bass started to come alive. Now after a couple of weeks they really sound good. I have heard people say that speakers need a break in period. Kind of makes sense for the bass as the edes of the bass cone are probably a bit stiff and loosen up with use. So for $53 thats what I got these for they sound good and I didn't have to go to a junk yard to try and find some old speakers that fit and probably just as worn out as my original ones were. While doing some research I came across these JBL Club series speakers. The reviews were good and the price was even better (55% off). They bolted right in to my Lincoln MKX and are a drastic improvement over the stock speakers. Awesome sound even from the stock head unit. Crystal clear with no distortion even at full volume (again, with stock head unit). Good bass response, but dont expect them to hit hard because they are not subs. These speakers are super easy to install if you also purchase the correct install cables for your car. They sound great for their price range. If your stereo and/or amplifier can provide the 45 watt RMS, they sound amazingly good. They definitely carry plenty of punch.

2012 ford f150 XLT, replaced front door speakers with this JBL. The bass is much better and overall sounds much better than factory speakers although the highs and midrange are not as clear as expected and actually have distortion at different sound levels. I am going to move these JBLs to the back doors for their bass, and put Infiniti speakers in the front for better sound and clarity. ... show more
