I have a over 12,000 dollars hard wired surround sound system set up in my media room and I’m only pointing this out to show that I know what sounds good and have something really great to compare this system too. I was a little nervous even after doing my research but I went ahead and bought this JBL unit for my other “tv room” that we use for watching everything not just movies. I was shocked by first how easy it was to hook up within 15 minutes or so and most importantly how impressed I was with the sound. I tested it out with the Black Panther and Jurassic Park and literally felt I was in the movie! I like the fact you can adjust the level of the sound of the side/rear speaker as well as the bass. Or you can just leave the rear speakers hooked up to the sound bar. If you have any doubts …put them to the side and buy this system with peace of mind! Thank JBL!!! ... show more

I have had a few different Surround sound systems. This is ultimately the best! With detachable rear speakers . I feel like I’m in my own private cinema. Awesome 3d sound !!!!! Highly recommend!

I was initially searching for a sound solution to help with low dialogue sounds. I was thinking of getting a soundbar specifically designed to augment dialogue but after doing research I settled on this unit. I'm very pleased with it and the dialogue sounds great even with the woofer booming at times. I haven't had any issue hearing the speech portions of the shows and movies. One thing I ran into in case this helps anyone else. We were streaming Paramount+ via Roku (because the actual Android P+ app sucks) and there were sound issues. I specifically had a Roku Express. During silent moments the soundbar would cut out and sound would not come back when audio resumed on the show. For example, when skipping intro or when skipping to the next episode, there would be audio issues. I did troubleshooting with JBL, we couldn't solve it so after some more trial and error I updated the Roku to a 4k Stick and the sound issue is gone. ... show more

The audio from this device sounds nice, but it’s not true Dolby Atmos. I think as a surround sound system, it’s passable, however it’s not as immersive (in my opinion) as the marketing material would have you believe. For $900 you could be halfway to a true Dolby Atmos Sonos home theater setup, which I probably will be when I return the JBL. ... show more

Excellent sound and surround sound with true wireless detachable speakers. Paired instantly with my new Sony Bravia TV. Sub woofer produces booming bass and I love how easy it is to remove and replace the satellite speakers which slot into place magnetically with a satisfying click.
