    • Graceful, Elegant, and STURDY

These are a STEAL for how beautiful they are. Truly crafted well, which isn’t to say that they are super sturdy. They are extremely delicate, and there is a particular charm about that. So, yes, they will break if you knock them about carelessly. But these aren’t meant to be durable. They are meant to be graceful. UPDATE AFTER ONE MONTH: The more I use these, the more I love them. The size is PERFECT. For comparison, I also purchased two other kinds of red wine glasses from Stötzle (“Grand Cuvée” and “Revolution”), and they were fine. But these ones diffused the most intense aroma by far! They are slightly smaller in terms of capacity than the Stötzle glasses, but I don’t mind since it clearly makes the wine drinking experience more sensorily enjoyable. I might add that very bulbous red wine glasses look a bit...pretentious, not to mention oddly proportioned (top-heavy?). So, even though these felt so thin and delicate, I decided to keep these and return the Stötzles. And you know what? They are deceptively sturdy. Despite the fact that they feel so lightweight in hand, and everything about them is so gracefully thin, THEY SURVIVE A LOT. I have had numerous instances where I was SURE that a bump or knock would have AT LEAST cracked one. But no. Flawless strength. Of course, they are glass, so you can’t drive a Land Rover on it, or hit it with a hammer and expect the hammer to just bounce back without breaking it. BUT, I am now a believer in the merits of titanium crystal glass - it really is a different kind of glass. You know how your sodium borosilicate French press is surprisingly sturdy for how thin it is? This is like that, only stronger! Which I say is deceptive, since it has almost as much clarity and brilliance as lead crystal, and we all know how absurdly fragile that stuff is. I have nothing but compliments to extol the merits of this glass. Beautiful, artfully crafted, makes wine smell better, comes exceptionally well packaged, delicate-feeling and shockingly strong. AND IT IS ECONOMICAL!! Buy them. UPDATE 2: After dinner, on Mother’s Day, I was washing dishes when I accidentally knocked one over onto my granite countertop. It was empty, and all who were present saw the cup part bounce against the countertop about three times. On the last bounce, it bumped against the one next to it, which also proceeded to tip over, only to bounce a few times. Neither of them broke! Miracle? Only the miracle of science. ... show more

I bought them for their shape, but I was really surprised when they arrived at my house because of their excellent presentation in an elegant box and with a protection that is impossible for them to break during transport to my house. Inferior workmanship or quality control caused me to be sent this glass with a black impurity stuck in the glass and an air bubble near the rim. Perhaps I could get over the air bubble but the black speck is unsightly and can’t be removed with scrubbing. I will be returning the item. Update: 2nd set equally defective. This is the second time I was sent defective glasses. There are several visible air bubbles and one the the glasses has an obvious “S” shaped curve through the middle of the bowl. Do not buy from this manufacturer. They will not send you quality glassware. Terrible experience and waste of my time. Update 2: The company reached out to me after I posted the second update and told me they had some quality control issues with their supplier. They volunteered to send me 4 new glasses AND refund the price I paid for the defective set I already had in my possession. The new set was in excellent condition and I’m inclined to believe I just had bad luck with the first two orders. I highly recommend dealing with this company based on the quality of the set of four I received and on their excellent customer service. I’m still docking them one star for the inconvenience and poor product that was in circulation. However, if the newest glasses I received are indicative of the rest of their supply it’s an excellent price point for high end looking crystal. ... show more

Ok, this was a terrible purchase, I can't believe the product hods a 4.4 star score after 4k reviews. Either I got a set from a bad batch or there is something funky going on with these reviews. I have had lots of red wine glasses through the years, and yes, every now and then a glass breaks, it's bound to happen. But these broke, one by one, at a rate of once a month. Incredible. One of them, i barely touched with a soon while it was sitting in the kitchen sink waiting to be washed, and it got a hole in the middle. Some other just broke in weird ways, the worst of all being one where I held the glass from the top with two gingers and it imploded. Luckily I didn't get hurt. The glasses themselves are a little small to my taste, and they weren't particularly inexpensive. One of the worst purchases I ever made on Amazon. And I buy here all the time. It's your money, and maybe I was unlucky, but my set was a complete, expensive flop. ... show more
