UPDATE 7/27/2024: Received a replacement front wheel in the mail today. It was packaged well and the wheel was true (unlike the bent one initially sent). Put this on easily, replacing the original wheel. Did a few spins around the block, and the difference in ride and smoothness was quite noticeable. It rides so much better without the wobble, and all because the front wheel was replaced with one that was true. It doesn't even seem to matter that the back wheel still wobbles, and it rides very well despite this. I have to say that this seller really does seem to care about customer service and about fixing any mechanical issues. I am quite impressed with Jasion's customer service, efforts to make this right, and prompt action to replace one of the bent wheels. Nice recovery, Jasion, and thank you very much. First off, let me say that I'm not an experienced or avid bike rider. However, my husband is and we thought this would be ideal to allow me to enjoy riding with him. Out of the box, there were minor issues that even I, as inexperienced as I am, noticed. It was easy enough to assemble, but both tires are a little wonky. They look fine both on and off the bicycle, but they don't ride very fine. They wobble enough so it feels like you're riding on smooth cobblestones. I didn't know what exactly to do, but when my husband road tested the thing it was apparent there was something wrong with either the fork or the wheel. So we pulled off both wheels and checked out the frame, which turned out to be true. Then we spun each wheel, and sure enough they wobbled (actually, both of them were slightly bent). I reached out to Jasion via messaging, and they responded to let them know the results and they would replace the defective parts. I tried to send them a video we had taken showing the wobbly wheels spinning, but apparently you can't attach videos to the company so we settled for a screen shot. I'm going to give them a few days to respond back and let's see whether new wheels fix the problem (or whether replacement wheels even materialize). I just got my ebike last week and have only had the opportunity to ride it a few times, but so far I'm pretty happy. It's not too heavy. Rides like any other mountain bike except for a bit of difference in the feel of the balance due to the extra weight from the battery. Headlamp is very bright and good for riding after dark although it lacks a taillight to allow it to be road legal in the nighttime. I only have two minor concerns. First, the power assist is a bit too powerful when it first kicks in. The power kick almost pushes you off balance as it surges forward. I'm hoping I'll get used to it and it doesn't cause issues riding on uneven or loose terrain. Second, is probably just esthetic, but the back fork has flatten tubular struts as opposed to most that are perfectly cylindrical. This makes mounting a carrying rack a bit less secure since most are designed to be strapped to a rounded downstrut and not these flattened tubes. The instruction manual was fairly decent considering it's made in China, but be sure to read it thoroughly. From reading some of the bad reviews it's likely that those customers didn't follow appropriate precautions and maintenence. Not sure what more you can want. Assembly was very easy. Bike seems good enough quality to me. Brakes could be a touch better. Can easily pull a hill with a bike trailer with minimal effort.

    • Great e-bike for the budget minded rider
Got this bike this summer and have had a blast riding it. The e-bike components all work well and it's easy to change the control to get a top speed of 25mph. Even just riding as a regular bike without the motor assistance is a pleasant experience. One thing to note is how the pedal assist settings work. Other e-bikes I've seen and tested out give a % of power based on the setting selected (25% power for level 1, 50% power for level 2, 75% power for level 3, etc). This bike however uses the pedal assist levels as a mph cap. For example, level 1 will provide full power to the motor up to about 11 mph then cuts out, level 2 goes up to about 13 mph, and so forth until you get to level 5 which is either 20 or 25 mph depending on what you have it set for. The thing to keep in mind is that when using just the throttle, it is still limited to the top speed of whatever pedal assist level you have it set at. This is really my only complaint with the bike because it can be a bit tricky getting the pedal timing right when you start out as the bike wants to get you up to the mph limit right away. Something to keep in the back of your mind if you're riding with others not on e-bikes, as you're going to have a tendency to get ahead of them quickly. ... show more

STAY AWAY! This was my first purchase of an ebike. I was excited for the purchase. The brakes were loud and had a metallic grinding sound. I adjusted the pads, but they still were terrible. Less than a month of owning it and with less than 70 miles on it, the controller went out resulting in no power for the bike. I reached out to customer service and it took over a week and many times sending photos, videos, of the issues over and over before they said they would send me a new controller. They said it would be 5-10 business days before I would receive it. It has now been 10 days and still no part. This is extremely disappointing. The excitement of owning my first ebike quickly deteriorated with the lack of quality parts and poor customer service. Spend your money somewhere else. ... show more

So far the bike is awesome and rides smooth. I am excited to use it more. Cons- The assembly directions are not good. There are directions that kind of show you what to do at the beginning and then it makes an abrupt stop.
