I purchased the first generation translator last year, and I enjoyed the product compared to other similar products I have tried. The Translator 2 blows the Translator 1 out of the water! Excellent improvement on translation speed and accuracy. I also love the overall new sleek design. I really like that you have added both Cantonese and Taiwanese to the language choices. Two improvement I would like see to via an update, or in a third generation is an option to change the clock format to 12 hour instead of the 24 hour format, and the second option would be an explicit word option the could be toggled on or off in the settings. eSim does not work. It says "loading" and it doesn't work. I think it is misleading advertising, without local data sim the translator is useless. A lot of investment for an offering without universal coverage.

    • Accurate but very basic features and non-existant 4G service
Translations were pretty accurate, but it's essentially a basic Android device with zero customization available. Enjoy that default wallpaper for $400. Out of the box, the 4G cell service never worked. Tried all the troubleshooting, wouldn't connect. Contacted customer service while in Tokyo and never received a response. Try something cheaper or just deal with the limitations of Google Translate. ... show more

First, you have to pay a subscription. Second, the translation is not accurate at all. I don’t recommend this product
