  • UPDATED 10/10 Review
Color: White Size: No offline package
New update: I had mentioned losing the right ear piece and it’s some where in my backyard or possibly inside the house. The strange but good news is i can still use the left ear piece as long as I’m at home and there’s a connection. Crazy but since I’m able to use it at hime I added to my stars for not crapping out. Update: I was finally able to figure things out and I was able to have students use the timekettle to have my speaking translated to them, even with a slight delay that was great and a success. Unfortantely, I lost the right one today in our backyard. For anyone wondering or asking questions about how well they work with sweat DON'T use them! The right one slipped out without me realizing so now I only have the left. It still works but in 2 classes I needed both earpods - unless I can possilby purchase one right side, I'll have only one or buy a whole new set. For now I will use the one left earpod. 😒 I bought these to use in school with the idea it would help translate between me and a few of my Spanish speaking students. Since it’s the weekend I only have the Spanish channels on tv for testing and that didnt go very well. I was hoping it would pick up more than one or two words but it didn’t. So for now I can only give it two stars for translating but I can give it 5 stars for music quality. The battery life gets 2 stars because 1st I don’t know how long the battery will last and 2nd I have to buy a special charging cord, not cool to send a device without a charging cord. This one doesn’t match any cords I have - I need a C cord 🤔 I will update my review once I can try the earbuds with a live person speaking Spanish. ... show more

  • Super delay and not very accurate
Color: Black Size: Offline package included
I expected a delay in translation especially when not using a downloaded (offline) language but it's a little much. Not entirely accurate and if there's background noise forget it. The buds are nearly impossible to keep in place. Having active listening and auto detect language/dialect would've been much better but if your trying to understand someone speaking Spanish for example there's like 10 different dialects you have to choose from (Spain, mexico,USA,ect.) Personally I think this type of tech has a LONG way to go before I spend that much on something like it again. Returned because one of the ear buds stopped working. ... show more

  • Use as my airbuds
Color: White Size: No offline package
3 stars because I still use them but not for language exchange. I use them to talk on the phone only the exchange language feature sucked so it wasn't worth the price

  • Closing in on perfection
Color: Black Size: Offline package included
So this is my third Time Kettle product (WT2 and WT2Edge before this M2). The biggest differences between the Edge and the M2 are form factor, music/phone ability, and simultaneous mode. The Edge is a bit smaller and comes with some attachments to keep it in the ear securely, the M2 is very similar with no attachments, but stays put pretty well. The Edge doesn’t have music listening while the M2 does. The Edge has a simultaneous mode that allows two people, each using one of the earpieces, to just talk and the system listens and translates. The M2 lacks this mode and relies on a brief touch for the person talking to start (also possible on Edge). I’ll focus on that, as it’s been quite relevant. I found that the Edge, when in very close conversations, would have trouble just listening to the individual wearing the device and would therefore sometimes get a bit goofy in the translation. For example, it was listening for Portuguese, but heard English close to it, assumed it was Portuguese, and tried to translate that (English) into English, with often hilarious results. Here’s where the M2 really shines. By requiring the touch, it never got confused. Another big benefit is that in that mode (M2 only!!!) when you speak English, you will also hear the translation into the other language. This helps you both ensure that you were heard and translated, and helps you actually learn the language through the translation. There seemed to be less latency with the translations, too. The written words are displayed on the host phone screen rather quickly, allowing parties to read along quickly, even before the audible translation. While the need to touch takes a little getting used to, like keying a microphone, the gains in speed and accuracy seem to be well worth it. Regarding the music ability, these works like a standard set of earbuds. I did have a few issues maintaining connectivity, but suspect some of that was my fault and will improve as I get more practiced with the various taps both navigating and controlling music and phone. Sound quality is pretty good, and certainly acceptable for this type device. Working on the EQ settings on my iPhone yielded good volume outdoors, and sufficient fidelity to actually enjoy the music. It will be nice when they get a few more languages available for download, and I hope they add some attachments similar to the Edge for securing the earpieces for more dynamic situations. Overall, I would highly recommend these across a wide variety of applications. Quality is great, customer service (Daisy) is very responsive and helpful, and the product clearly delivers on its translation goals!! Perfection keeps getting closer!! ... show more

No vienen con gancho para colgar, lo que facilita se puedan perder. tambien, me ha sido dificil encontrarle un cover para protegerlos o por lo menos para engarcharlos y poder colgar. Es necesario entrar al app para buscar el traductor. No es muy amigable. Si quiero traducir lo que estoy escuchando en el mismo telefono, no ayuda. El auricular solo esta configurado como que quiero escuchar a otra persona, si quiero traducir una llamada en el telefono, o una cancion no veo facilidad. ... show more

  • Totally impressed with Spanish Dialects
Color: White Size: Offline package included
This is 98% accurate and understands and is able to translate many of the varying words based on Spanish dialect. The level of translation is superior. I use both earbuds in my ear and will speak Spanish in one to hear English in my other ear. It’s simultaneous and fast. The best I’ve ever had. Awesome. ... show more
