  • Great addition

  • Great purchase
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
We have a Tesla Model S. 2016. If you have an early model s you know that all the goodness went everywhere except practical storage. It’s like they left the interior storage design to some first year design engineer that secretly wanted to be a modern art architect- it’s hare brained and makes NO sense! There is no room. The cup holders are inconvenient. It’s all stupid I took a shot at this console organizer and I love it. It gives me two more cup holders that are actually in a practical location and some convenient and practical organized storage space. The detents that hold back the retracting door work brilliantly and it looks as if it came with the car. It’s 100 percent a better design than the original. It sits up high enough to hide the junk drawer storage space underneath that is the original designed space. That can be easily accessed by effortlessly lifting the insert out and digging around blindly in the abyss for a cough drop, tampon, or piece of gum. Buy it. No regurts ... show more

  • A useful product with a minor design issue
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
This is a niche product for Tesla Model S and X owners that makes the center storage area more useful. It fits easily into the opened, center console, and is easily removed as well. This is beneficial in that you can store less used, or larger items, in the more spacious area of the center console beneath this insert. If you do need to access items from the space below the insert, it takes just a moment to remove this insert, so that you can reach what you need, and then just a moment to reinsert it. Before I purchased this insert, I had a similar insert that had a wireless phone charger built in. I liked that for a while but found it too shallow (couldn't accommodate my Oakley sunglasses with the storage lid closed, for example) and it also didn't maximize useable space, length-wise, because it was short, only extending to the end of the visible opening of the opened storage console. This product is better designed in that respect and allows for the tray to sit much deeper in the console, making for much more useable space. It is also cleverly designed to provide space beyond the visible, open area of the console, extending underneath where the retracted storage console cover is. I should also mention that I don't need so much space being taken up for my phone to charge wirelessly in a console insert because I recently purchased the Tesla wireless charger (available from the Tesla online store), which installs in the smaller console console to the rear of the larger console opening that this product insert is made for. As far as the drink holder is concerned, I have seen some reviewers say that the openings are too small or that they cannot accommodate more than one drink at a time (except for narrow cups or soda cans). That is technically true but it really isn't a product flaw. There is only so much width available in the Tesla center console to accommodate additional cupholders and I like having them there because I often spill drinks located in the armrest cupholders of the Tesla with my elbow, due to their less than stellar placement. My drink of choice in the morning is usually an Extra Large Coffee from Dunkin Donuts, which fits into this cupholder very well. Regardless, you can still use the factory drink holders on the armrest for larger drinks, or multiple drinks that are too wide to fit into this tray together. For me, I'm happy to have the extra cupholders. If you find that they aren't suitable for the drink containers that you prefer, they can always be used as storage compartments for something else. The area where I think this product fails is the spring-loaded pieces just behind the cupholders that extend upwards, and are supposed to allow the center console lid to be closed, while leaving the cupholders exposed. I'd say that this was a potentially good idea that just doesn't work. First of all, the posts are poorly placed, such that the console lid does not stop closing before it partially obscures the cupholders. The result is that the lid will close slightly on your drink. This causes it to slightly crush a paper coffee cup, for example. I'm also a bit concerned that having to force the console lid over the spring-loaded pegs to get it to fully close may potentially damage the lid on the center console, over time. In addition to moving these posts back, so that they don't interfere with the cupholders, I think that it would be better to have some type of retractable post (instead of spring loaded) that can locked in place (up or down), to accommodate the desired closing position of the console lid. In short, I feel that this is a very useful product for a Tesla Model S or X owner that improves the usability of the factory console, and is a relatively inexpensive and well made item. I hope that my additional observations are helpful. ... show more

  • Works as long as you don’t need cup holder.
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
Works great but the cupholders will not hold anything bigger than a 16oz beverage can.

  • Cup holders are pretty small
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
If you plan on using the cup holders for large drinks…don’t bother. It will fit a standard grande Starbucks cup though. But not a large coke cup.

  • Hack: Use felt spacer to keep console lid from closing over spring buttons
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
I've read other reviewers complain that the spring buttons don't keep the console lid from closing fully. Yes, the lid can pop right over the buttons. From my point of view, the issue is that there is too much play in lid itself - it can move vertically by a few mm. I trimmed a felt furniture pad and wedged it between the lid and the center console frame that hangs over the lid. (See attached pictures.) The felt pad holds the lid down so it will stop at the spring buttons and not pop over, but still allows the lid to slide and close automatically. The pad's adhesive holds the pad to the lid. To close the lid fully takes a little more force since you actually have to depress the spring buttons, but I think this is as intended. Otherwise, I really like this insert tray. It's sturdy. It makes the center console space more useful. Two pairs of sunglasses can hide under the lid in the tray; the cup holders are big enough to hold a 12 oz can or 500ml water bottle. ... show more

  • Spring buttons not strong enough to keep console cover open
Size: For Tesla S/X Console Organizer
I wanted to like this console organizer. I knew when I bought it that the cup holders were pretty small, basically, if you're using something like an insulated mug you need to pick a side and you can realistically only use one or the other cup holder. This was fine with me, my wife loves having some kind of drink with her wherever we go and I always end up knocking my elbow into it when using the unfortunately-located OEM cup holders in the center arm rest. This organizer was going to provide a reasonable solution to that nuisance. As advertised, when installed the two spring buttons will stop the console cover from closing all the way so as to leave the mini cup holders exposed without showing the other junk that I wanted to keep in the rest of the tray. After I got everything set up we went for a drive and.. pretty much every time I accelerated the car (and I'm NOT a speed demon) the console cover pushed past the spring buttons and tried to finish closing. If there was a cup in the cup holder at the time it would then pinch the cup to make it a bit more difficult to take a drink. But once the cup was out, the console cover would finish closing and.. no cup holder. You need to open the console cover at least part way every time you take a drink to return the cup to the holder. A bit disappointing because, unlike the reviews I've seen for similar console organizers, this one fits snugly into the console opening and doesn't shift or move at all. Alas, I'm returning it with some disappointment and looking for a better cup holder solution. ... show more
