  • Better than cutting the factory harness
Worked great for installing a Kenwood receiver in my 2012 E-series. It greatly simplified the wiring process, although it didn't provide a solution for the factory line-in plug in the dash.

  • Worth it
Worth the money. My aftermarket stereo works great. A little complicated for a beginner but you can download a diagram.

  • Does what it's supposed to
It came all boxed up and sealed. If you have been around the electrical realm it was a pretty easy install. Like I said in a title, it does what it's supposed to. I did not need anything fancy that the second version offers.

  • It's great, but it's a spaghetti mess of wires and hard to reprogram after installing
I recommend getting the RR2 version that enables you to reflash via bluetooth or whatever because this one requires you to disconnect it from the vehicle in order to flash or reflash it. I found that to be a huge pain in the A. I had to reflash mine after installing it because it wasn't working right (My fault). The USB cable I planned on leaving connected to the module for reflashing purposes didn't work until I disconnected everything else (which requires removing the radio, defeating the purpose of leaving the USB cable installed) I installed mine in a 2011 F150 equipped with Sync and no Nav, using a Kenwood DMX1037S big screen head unit. The ability to reprogram this module was probably fantastic 10 years ago, but times have changed and we expect programming to be easy these days. That said it definitely does work very well. The extra display above the radio on my 2011 F150 works again, it displays the time, song data info, compass and the outside temps where my PAC RP4-FD11 left that screen handicapped. My steering wheel controls were programmable to my Kenwood unit and I have access to engine data and information that I didn't have before due to the OBD2 interface and integration with the Kenwood radio. The Ford interface harness that goes with this is massive and difficult to condense into a manageable bundle. My truck didn't need a large portion of the wires and one less connector. The wires are so long, the connectors plug into both sides of the module and it's just so hard to squish it down so it doesn't look like a nightmare. I gave up and left mine looking like dog water. (still a nightmare of wires even after removing the speaker RCA's and such because I didn't need them) Most important thing is that you should get the newer version that enables you to reflash without removing everything, in case you programmed a steering button in a way you ultimately didn't like. ... show more

  • Super complicated
I ordered this to install a aftermarket radio in my f150, after programming I installed the module and all the wires needed . The radio would turn on but the sound was extremely loud out of one speaker when the volume was at 3 or 4. So I proceeded to do my usual checks to ensure all the connections we correct and even after that not everything wasn't working or working but wasn't hooked up to be working such as the factory subwoofer would play but the rca plugs weren't hooked up so I removed the module and harness so I'm looking for a different harness and module ... show more

  • Awesome value
Was a decent amount of work to install, but totally worth it! Installed in between a 2008 ford explorer and a JVC radio, using a compatible idatalink harness. Now my steering wheel controls extra, my radio displays extra, and the ford hands free and bluetooth still works!

  • Works for the most part
Got some issues with wheels controls on my Ford Fusion 2010 SEL.. The wheel controls keep switching and changing at random. Other than that, everything else works fine. I wish there was a fix for it!

  • Proper description
This device worked perfectly and did EXACTLY what I hope for!!!
