  • Good product
This works great for my truck, it was a bit snug getting into place but fits. This doesn’t hold my 14 max seeing as it’s so large it works for my work phone and bonus with th Ian I just got a meg charger that lays in the ray for the other one. Overall well worth the cost.

  • Ford F150 Center Console Tray
This tray was a perfect fit for my console. It fit right along my other tray. Was set up and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. Love the fact that I can just lay my phone onto the tray and it automatically starts charging and automatically connects to my radio via WiFi to where I can play my music.

  • It works well in my truck
Installed this in my F250 today. Easy install with the exception of the included 12V USB plug. Very flaky. Worked at first then removed phone from charger and it wouldn't work when put back on. Removed and replaced the plug and it worked again, for a little while, then stops. Also stops working if charger USB used or if charger switch is used. Checked cable connection to charger and it's solid. Used another 12V USB plug and no issues. Remove phone and, back on, the USB plug on charger and switch on/off and everything still works. Definitely the included plug. Gets 4 stars overall and 2 for ease of install because I had to T/S. ... show more

  • Dandy wireless charger tray that solves the problem and more!
My old F-150 was still running great and shiny but if that baby was a real baby she'd be driving herself around this year. Besides, if I keep a new one this long, well, let's just say some 87 year-olds are not be able to climb aboard a pickup. So, I sold her and got me a new brand new 2021 F-150 with so much tech I'll be a couple years figuring it all out, including a console and a 12" touch screen. One thing about my old sweetheart was that there was no high tech back then. The dash had all mechanical radio buttons and heat/AC controls and half of it contained a useless 1-slot 6-CD changer (ever see how cute a CD curls up in a closed up cab sitting in the sun?). It had an ashtray full of quarters a cigarette lighter. So, when smart phones came to be, I had a phone mount suction cupped to the windshield and a cigarette lighter hole phone cord that I had to share with my wife on trips. I hated that wire that I duct taped to the dash after the time I got my hand tangled up in it at a moment when it absolutely needed it to be on the wheel and ripped my phone off the windshield before I got to a stop. My brand new F-150 fixed all that. It has a CarPlay button that hooks my touch display up with my guidance and my entire CD library, amongst other stuff, via Bluetooth, so my phone is safely stowed in the shade or left in my pocket. The problem is that when I'm running guidance or music for any length of time, the battery in my phone gets drained. Sure, there are USB-A and USB-C connectors in the little compartment in the console where the ashtray belongs, but I'm disgusted that I still need a wire. I swear that Edsel's ghost must still haunt Ford's design department because it is plain silly in this day and age to not have wireless phone charger in a vehicle, where you can't operate it long without charging the phone. The only one 2021 F-150 model variant (that you can't get in the color I wanted) is available with a wireless charger. That's disgusting, but the CarQiWireless solves that problem and more! I included a photo showing what you get in the box. I was pretty excited to see that short cigarette lighter hole USB-A adapter. Only an Edsel would have a spring-closed, unremovable plastic door covering the cigarette lighter hole and I was thinking perhaps I could convert that hole permanently to a spare USB-A in a very convenient location for my wife. Unfortunately, there is near zero room inside that door and it only closes 3/4 of the way with that adapter in place. The hookup to the charger itself is a USB-C on the underside of the tray (see pic). I prefer the charger to be forward on the passenger side because it makes it easier for me to access my phone. Since the console cover opens to a vertical position, it interferes with my elbow when I insert the tray with the charger compartment at the back or on the driver's seat side. The downside is that the wire connection being on the front edge makes the wire interfere a little with removing the tray to access the main console storage below. I really love that the CarQiWireless design includes a USB-A on the top to replace the only USB-A in the console, which it uses. I was puzzled about the tee-shaped hole in the compartment behind the charger until I saw a picture of the same thing in an earlier F-150's Ford tray - it is designed to be an access hole allowing wires to come up above the tray. In the 2021 F-150 console, there is plenty of room along either side of the tray, so it is not really necessary. Operationally, you have a power switch that lights up blue when the charger is powered. Presumably, if left powered long enough without running the engine, it could discharge the truck's battery. However, I left it on for 4 days without starting the truck and it didn't make any noticeable difference (i.e., on a brand new truck with a brand new battery in the garage in the summer). However, I made it my SOP to turn it on when I put my phone on it and turn it off when I take my phone out (you probably don't need to be as rigorously regimented as I, but this way I know it won't ever be the thing that discharged the battery). This charger advertises a 10 W capability while my iPhone 8 and the charger next to my bed have a 20 W wireless capability. So, if your priority is to charge up at the speed of light then this unit (or any other that runs off a cigarette lighter hole) may not be for you. For me, the problem I wanted to solve is to arrive at my destination with guidance and music and at least the same charge that I had when I left. I went under those drains on an hour long trip, starting with a 47% charge and arriving with a 97% charge. I'm a super happy camper! The charger also has a green light that comes on when there is a phone on the charger that is accepting a charge . There is a lot of room around it on the charger and, even though there is a rubber non-slip surface on the charger, it is still possible to have my iPhone 8 on the charger but in a position where it is not (or just intermittently) charging, namely all the way left and back (as installed). Cushy as it is, my new F-150 is still a pickup truck that is going to see its share of unpaved roads, boat ramps, and speed bumps, where I use the accelerator to lift the front end and minimize the jolt. The phone can be expected to move around in the tray. I'm not planning to worry about it much because when I'm using CarPlay is the only time I have much drain on my battery, and the CarPlay screen has a prominent battery icon with a huge bright yellow lightning bolt through it that is shown when charging. Even I can't help but notice that going off. I know what you're thinking - my iPhone 8 should have gone with my old F-150. Well, unlike F-150's, iPhones do seem to have a limit to their useful life built right in with their other amazing capabilities. I'm thinking go big or go to the home. A neighbor simply loves his new iPhone 12 Pro Max, so I talked him into letting me take it for a spin on my new charger. It went partially into the charger compartment but, unfortunately, couldn't quite be pushed down with the case on far enough for the green light to come on. He has a pop-on, pop-off case with an open front and no cards or anything, but it has small grip ridges on both sides. There is plenty of room at the top/bottom to get a finger in and pick it back up so it is just the width that's the problem. I'm sure it would fit with the case off or a true minimalist case on. (I read somewhere that it was leaked that the iPhone 13 Pro Plus will have the same width.) Finally, it is hereby verified that the Ford supplied tray in the 2021 F-150 console does not quite fit with the CarQiWireless tray installed. (Earlier models are supposed to fit fine.) However, as shown in the pic, they can both be inserted - resulting in overlapping side ledges and the Ford tray slightly up in the air on the back outside corner. Note that the configuration I used is the only way I could get them in easily, and only if you slide the CarQiWireless tray all the way over toward the passenger seat and then insert the back of the Ford tray before you hang the front of the Ford tray on the front ridge. Nonetheless, in this hokey configuration, the console will close, the CarQiWireless charger will charge, and you can easily remove the trays to access the main console below (front up first on the Ford tray then slide the charger tray to the middle and pick it up back first). Not to be discouraged, I decided that the worst that could happen is that I'd ruin the Ford tray that doesn't quite fit. I had chosen the shown direction for the Ford tray because the ledge on the outside at the front is a bit wider than it is if placed in the opposite direction. So I went to work with the help of my trusty old but very sharp Swiss Army knife, a hacksaw blade, and I piece of sandpaper. I made the long sweeping cut on the front outside ledge and the notch in the back as shown in the attached pic. Voila! Both trays now fit as shown in the last pic. I did sandpaper a little of the thickness off the top of the front corner of the Ford tray (there is plenty of room at the back), so I guess I'll have to stop standing on that Ford tray, and storing all of that gold bullion there, because it may be weakened a little. However, if it didn't fit, I could have worked some on the (narrower) outside ledges of the much sturdier CarQiWireless tray. In summary, the worst I can say about the CarQiWireless is I wish they hadn't made the pen holder so much wider than my pen and had left another smidge of room for a little wider iPhone case. Digging really deep, I can't think of a reason why I'd ever want to remove those rubber pads for the pen holder and the compartment with the wire access hole, and I must have dumped those loose pads between the seats 50 times, so I hit them with a couple of drops of glue. Otherwise, unless CarQiWireless could get Ford to recall my new truck to fix the obviously defective size of the tray hangers in the 2021 console, I'm not sure how I could be much happier. ... show more

  • Easy to install, but not effective. Great CR response.
This is an amended review. Since posting the original, I reached out to the company and was promised a full refund. Original: I was very happy with the ease of installation and the apparent quality of the product. But, even though my iPhone indicates that it is receiving a charge, the level of charge on my phone doesn’t increase. It appears that the charge is too low to effectively charge my phone. ... show more

It's built well, I have no complaints about the product, I was unable to use it because I would have lost my other storage box. Other than that it's a great concept!
