  • Great solution for my VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Soundbar
Size: 3X1 Spdif
I've had this switch in place for a couple weeks now and It is the perfect solution to switch audio sources for my VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers . I have the IR receiver mounted just underneath the soundbar which in turn is mounted several inches under the TV on a Bell'O PP59B TV Mount . I'm using 6 foot 9To5Cables Premium Toslink Optical Digital Audio Cables to make all the connections between my 50" 3D Plasma TV, Smart 3D Blueray player, and my XBMC/Mac Mini based Media Center to the Soundbar/Surround system. The remote control is very simple to operate and doesn't seem to confuse my wife. We are 8' or closer when we use the remote and the IR receiver never fails to receive the signal and switch the audio source. The smart blue ray player is what we use most so it is #1, TV #2 and Mac Mini #3. All the cables and the switch is out of the way and since the stand and soudbar are all black you can't even see where the IR receiver is mounted. The system is completely out of site and works perfect. The 9To5 cables compliment this J-Tech switch very well and are worth every penny. Excellent build quality and they fit very snug in the switch and devices. To connect to the Mac Mini I purchased an inexpensive Toslink-to-3.5mm Mini Optical Adapter on Amazon but wasn't happy with that item because it would not stay connected to the 9To5 cable. I went to BestBuy/Magnolia and purchased an AudioQuest adapter, Model OPLNKMINIADAPT, for a few dollars more and it stays connected to the 9To5 cable. I'll will update my review so people have a better idea about the longevity of the J-Tech product but I'm glad I read all the reviews and went with this setup. ... show more

  • SO far works great. One problem so I took off one star
Size: 3X1 Spdif
I'm using this to connect a blu-ray player, a Comcast infinity box, and an aux optical output from my PC. Not a whole lot to say in this review-the three cables(blue rigger toslinks) into the 3 inputs on the unit and one output from the unit to my JVC receiver. The little switch requires ac power which an adapter is included. Also included is a small thin 4 button IR remote. There is an IR receiver extension plug which is long enough so you can hide the switch and mount or place the extended receiver where you wish. The remote is IR and quite directional and not much range(6f at best). On the switch itself is a tiny selector button to change between the 3 outs. It also has an on\off button. OKAY The one star off for poor remote and a possible problem with longer cables. I purchased a 6ft amazon basic cable to use with two 3f blue rigger cables and the Amazon basic cable drops audio for about a second. Sometimes every 5 minutes and sometimes not for an hour.I don't know if this is a bad cable or a limitation of the switch. I'll direct connect the 6f cable and see if it still has the problem and update this later. ... show more

  • The perfect solution to multiple optical audio sources to one optical audio receiver.
Size: 3X1 Spdif
I was looking for a product that would allow me to connect 2-3 audio source devices to the single input to my Bose theater system. This product was very easy to set up and worked perfectly with no degradation of sound quality. The IR remote feature is excellent so that one does not have to fumble to find this connector to switch the channels after it's been hidden behind everything. The remote sensor is small so you can hide it away with a small adhesive patch on the bottom to keep it in place. My Blu-ray player's digital audio port is co-axial. My primary source is the cable box which is #1 and my Fire TV is #2. Don't use #3 at this time, but would have connected my Blu-ray to #3 if it had an optical audio connection. Everything connects to my Bose 1-2-3 system. Thanks for a perfect solution to my problem. Without this I would have to manually switch the optical audio cable between my Fire TV and the cable box. I'm sure frequently connecting and disconnecting the optical audio cable would eventually cause it to break. I highly recommend this product. It doesn't come with the optical audio cables. I bought mine (Bluerigger) from Amazon. ... show more

  • Good for when only one port on TV supports HDR
Size: 2x1 8K@60Hz | 4K@120Hz
Only one HDMI port on my TV supports HDR, so this is good for connecting both the Playstation 4and the Xbox One X. It does correctly pass through ARC commands and HDR through the box, so switching to the ps4 channel on the TV automatically turns the Playstation on, and vice versa. The complicated part is figuring out which setting to use so that it automatically switches between the ps4 and Xbox dependent on input signal, so that I don't have to get up and change it manually. The instructions were pretty much useless but after some fiddling I did get the intended behavior and it has been working for a month or two so far. ... show more

  • Broke in 3 weeks - Manufacturer will not respond
Size: 2x1 8K@60Hz | 4K@120Hz
I initially liked this product until it failed after approximately 3 weeks and simply stopped working. I was not upset because many products suffer early failure and there are no hard feelings if the manufacturer responds to an inquiry about how to resolve the issue. However, even though J-Tech makes noise on their product listing about product support but I cannot get any response to an email using the contact information on the Amazon listing. This is the last J-Tech product I will buy. ... show more
