Description

J-B KwikWeld is a fast setting version of The Original J-B Weld two-part epoxy cold weld system that provides strong, lasting repairs to metal and multiple other surface types. After mixing, it forms a permanent bond and can be shaped, tapped, filed, sanded and drilled after curing. J-B KwikWeld has a 1:1 mixing ratio, sets in 6 minutes and is fully cured in 4-6 hours. J-B KwikWeld cures to a dark grey color, is rated at a tensile strength of 2424 PSI and will withstand temperatures up to 300ºF.

I am retired and always tinkering with new projects and need adhesives a few times a month and this is my go-to stuff. I use disposable 30CC mixing cups (available here on Amazon) and reusable silicone stir sticks (also available here). I never actually measure the two parts, just sort of eyeball the amounts, and have never messed up the ratio. You can leave a little in the cup to see when it's fully cured. Use a little dab to secure an item in place or smear it all over to make it STAY. In 6 minutes or so, it gets firm and sort of hard-rubbery. I give it 24 hours to fully cure and then it's nice and hard. And shiny ultra-dark grey. Prep is a must, lightly scratching shiny or smooth surfaces. Always use alcohol. I use 70% medical pads by the bulk for this, but 90%+ would be better. I love this epoxy so much that when I am down to one package I order another as a backup just in case Amazon is temporarily sold out. About a month ago one of the hardener tubes had a tiny leak and my fingers got a little sticky, but that did not detract from the quality of this stuff. Once again, as long as you prep the surface properly, this is the best you can buy. 5 stars easy. Works on car/truck projects as well, just degrease AND use alcohol. (don't use this on hi-temp things... there are epoxies made just for that) P.S. You know how a cell phone charging cradle slips around on your night stand? A couple of small dabs of this epoxy on the bottom solves that problem. ... show more

Lining of car windshield was separated and caused leakage in heavy rainfall so I used silicone sealant under the lining but this stuff on the upper edge and the seal became hard as steel on the edge. The putty knife I used has a permanent layer of epoxy that cannot be washed off or even chipped, so need to remove excess quickly which was easy ( if you're quick). Get it right before it hardens. Value is excellent, and functionality and durability extraordinary. Appearance is shiny dark gray, and I bought more of the larger tube size because you might use it up after one use since the size is small and difficult to reuse. ... show more

If you mix this product properly, it adheres to most surfaces (listed on package), sets up with minimal run off and can be drilled or sanded in around 12 hours (what worked for me). Bought this recent batch to fix a lamp post that separated from its base. I literally wiped off the dirt, applied the product and positioned/supported the lamp post upright to give it time to cure and it's good as new. Needed to replace this in my shop, had it for over 5 yrs. Best epoxy for mending all kinds of stuff. It works as described. Just make sure you're cleaning the area where you're going to glue up. I use Denatured Alcohol to clean the parts before gluing. After it cures hard (24 hrs.) you can shape it by filing or sanding. Highly recommend this it has saved many broken items in my shop/home. ... show more
