  • Why have I waited 20 years to buy this thing?
I've tried Anderson Powerpole connectors several times over the past 2 decades without the "required" crimper. I don't know how any one human being can be as fully stupid as I am, but there it is. After years of frustrating experiences I finally bought this magical tool and discovered that Powerpole connectors really are amazing and they do in fact work great! The upside of this whole fiasco is that I have a depth of appreciation for this tool that most folks just can't understand. Beautiful, perfect crimps every single time. It's almost better than drinking a beer! Just buy it! ... show more

  • Excellent Inexpensive Crimpers for Powerpoles
I am an amateur radio operator and Anderson Powerpoles are a pretty standard power connector for radio equipment. I wanted to have the ability to make my own cables at home, and discovered you needed a special die to do Powerpoles. I looked around to find a die that matched my other crimpers, but couldn't find one. That's what led me to these crimpers. They are only for Powerpoles and work very well for that (by the way, I tested to see if the dies from these crimpers would fit in my other crimping frame, and they do not. The jaw clearance is wider on these crimpers than on my other ones). As for how they work, the answer is very well. I was able to knock out about a dozen crimp connections in fairly short order and they all crimped perfectly and fit snugly into their housing. Once put into service, they worked flawlessly. The guides help to ensure you are crimping in the correct spot each time. I have only used the genuine Anderson Powerpoles (as most people advised doing), so I cannot comment on how well they work on some of the imitation powerpoles out there. These crimpers are way cheaper than the official ones sold by Anderson, and somewhat cheaper than some of the other frames I have seen recommended by other hams. I have not used the other crimpers, but will say I have no desire to, as these work great! I highly recommend them if you are looking to make your own Powerpole connectors and are want to save some money on the crimping tool. ... show more

  • Sturdy. Well-Made. Universal
it's important to note that even though this crimper says it is for Anderson power pole connectors that you can actually remove the crimp dies and use a crimp die for RG-8, 9,11, 174, 213, 214, Belden 9913, LMR-400; another crimp die for RG-58, 59, 62, 140, 174, RG-8X, LMR-195, and LMR-240; and finally a third crimp die for red, yellow, and blue electrical connectors. In other words, this is a universal crimp tool that accepts universal crimp dies for whatever else you wish to crimp. It is also very sturdy, beefy, feels solid in your hands, and over all well-made. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Specialized tool, excellent results
I was on the fence about buying this tool for one specific crimp type, especially since I own the Wirefy crimpers with multiple dies. It's possible to use other tools to crimp Anderson Powerpole but this tool makes it so easy to get excellent results every time. Save yourself the headache and just buy this tool. I have used the 30 and 45 amp sizes. I would assume the 15 amp size works equally well. ... show more

  • Why pay more????
Been looking at these for some time, as I was needing crimpers for Anderson Power Pole connectors. These fit the bill perfectly! Well built, have all 3 openings for the different size terminals and work the same as the higher priced crimpers, but cost less. If you are looking for some crimpers but don't want to break the bank, look no further! ... show more

  • Solid product, but not required.
Everything about the crimpers is great. Design is good, they feel well build, they 'just work'. However if you're only going to use them a dozen times I'm not sure they're worth it.. you can get by without them. But if you really will use them often, or just have $27 to make your life a little easier, they're a good buy. ... show more

  • Works well, but you will need a needle nose plier
I bought this to enable me to crimp PowerPole connector terminals. Because the dies come together following an arc-shaped path, the 45 Amp position upper die tends to catch on the outer tang of the terminal. I found I needed to use a needle nose plier to slightly rotate the terminal slightly clockwise for a proper crimp. The quality of the crimp itself is very good and I am satisfied with the tool. ... show more
