    • They seem to work OK via WiFi, but no local alarm
I should say insufficient local alarm. You can't hear it at all unless you hold it right up to your head. I was hoping for a local alarm that would also give me a phone alert. The remote alert is the main reason I bought these, so I'm OK with it for this price. The phone alert seems to work fine, but the tiny little beeper inside is useless to notify you without the phone alert. Right now, it takes about 5-10 seconds after activation, which is fine for the intended use. Hope the app works as quickly when I need it. Just wish it had a loud local alarm you could hear in the vicinity. ... show more

    • Battery died shortly
I didn't get the chance to install the unit, it was never connected to a wifi device, yet a few months after I got it when I went to install it, I immediately got a low battery alert. No idea if this works or not.

this unit looks like the more expensive ones and works as advertised. i purchased two of these and one of the units battery was not full charge but these batteries are under $2 each. Had to connect using only 2g wifi but connected quickly. i tested placing on top of wet cement floor and immediatly notified me. both units worked the same. Works as intended. Instructions a little hard to follow but not too hard to figure things out. Phone notification work fine, beeps loud enough to easily hear from the same room.

    • Works, but no alert?
So I was able to setup the unit quickly. It connected to my wifi easily and detected water when I touched the sensor to water, but there was no alert. I can go into the app and see that the device detected water, showing the date and time water was detected, but how would I know without going into the app and checking it every 5 minutes? As soon as it detects water, I want to be alerted (a sound from the app, an email... anything!) so that I can run home and stop any damage from occurring. If it can't alert you of the issue when it occurs, what good is it? If I'm missing something, please let me know and I'll change my review. It would be a great product if it could alert you. ... show more

It does not detect water. It can give a weak signal if submerged and it eats batteries.
