I took this little fridge on a 2 week trip. Bought glass containers that fit the fridge perfectly and had it running the entire two weeks, either in my car or the hotels I stayed in. It kept everything very cold, much better than one I've used for years. We have an older one that we've used for years but my husband had it, farming, and I bought this one for my trip. This one is much lighter than our older one, so easy to carry into hotels and plug in. The compressor being on the top, instead of the side allowed for more room in the fridge compartment without interference with the compressor. The locking lid was nice and being able to easily see that it's cooling instead of heating was great! Our older on switched between heating and cooling based on how you plugged the connection in, which was hard to see. I would recommend unloading and wiping this little fridge out every week or so. It's clean water, but it will pool in the bottom as the unit runs and the condensation builds up. ... show more

We ordered this cooler for a long trip and it didn't disappoint. Here's what we liked about it. The size is perfect for the car. Not too big and not too small. Also, being taller means it has a smaller footprint. The handle locks the cooler closed. When the handle is toward the front of the cooler, you can easily open it. However, any other position locks the cooler closed. LOVE that is has two power cords. One for AC (110 volt) and one for DC (12 volt). All other electric coolers like this that I've had over the years just have the 12 volt plug, and if you wanted to plug them into a 110V source, you had to use a big "power brick" to convert the 110V AC to 12V. We filled the cooler with soda and also put a wireless thermometer inside so we could see how cold it actually got. WIth the room temperature at about 70F degrees, the cooler eventually bottomed out at 37.5 degrees F. Plenty cold. The only negative is that the handle doesn't feel quite as sturdy and solid as I wish it did. I am hoping it will hold up over time, but only time will tell. So I work nights so I got this to warm food and keep drinks cold. its kind of like a cold air blower..ish..IDK if it has coolant like your freezer but it helped that i added ice. its a bit heavy when full but its tall and a 2 liter bottle fits on the edges inside standing up or laying down. im going to keep using it for work. Its nice that it has 2 power options, a 12 volt and 110 ac plug thats stored in the top and has a locking lid using the handle. over all i like it and may buy another one for another vehicle. ... show more

Used regular coolers for years when traveling - getting ice every day, or using a hotel fridge to refreeze some blue ice, was inconvenient plus we needed a hotel room with a fridge. This device is perfect - cools all day long, then we simply plug into a hotel room outlet for the night. Much less fuss. This has simplified our traveling. I did a three week camping trip and needed something to keep my food cold while driving. I didn’t want to have to mess with getting ice all the time. This was the perfect solution and totally worth the money - bonus that you can fit more food in there because you don’t need to fit the ice as well. This cooler holds 2-liter bottles, cartons of milk, cartons of food, etc. The shape serves our needs better than 6-pack coolers; size is not large but is adequate for a day's traveling. The option of 12-volt or 110 current allows flexibility. It does keep drinks cool and keeps food from spoiling, but is not as cold as a refrigerator. It does the job if I cool it down inside the house before packing, add a few blue ice blocks or hunk of frozen food, and keep it out of the hot sun while driving. I bought this item because we needed an option to keep fruit, and some other perishables cool, almost cold in a hospital room. The hospital staff thinks it's a wonderful option for someone with a pretty specific diet. I think it would be great for use when traveling too.
