    • Had to cut off the retaining clip, make a hole in the handle, and insert a string
I bought these for my whitewater kayak. It did the job, and seems durable. The retaining clip at the bottom is so long that I had to cut it off. Then, I heated a nail and inserted it through the handle to make a hole, so I could insert a string through it. It would be nice if it was cast with a hole for this purpose. The o-ring seems a little loose; I'm concerned that it might slip down over the threads and come off the plug, when I don't have the plug in the boat. Normally, the retaining clip would prevent the o-ring from coming off, entirely, but I had to remove it, to fit the boat. ... show more

Works well for drains that have a coarse thread, like jet skis, kayaks and small sailboats. Much better deal than the local boat supply store!
