Features

  • [Improve Water Quality] Solves hard water problems without the need for chemicals, salt, or maintenance, while keeping healthy minerals in the water by preventing scale deposits from forming and allowing existing scale to break down.
  • [Reliable Descaler] Descales your entire water system and prevents scale buildup in pipes. Reduces energy consumption with an average one year payback period. Great for your home and the environment, individuals on salt-restricted diets, and those looking for healthier skin and hair.
  • [Environmental Friendly] Designed for very hard water areas (10-19 grains per gallon). Saves energy and extends the life of your appliances.
  • [Easy Installation] No plumbing modifications required. Maintenance-free. Works on any pipe, even PEX and PVC. 1-year money-back and lifetime tech support from iSpring.
  • [No change on Chemistry of Water] Unlike salt water softeners, ED2000 does not change the chemistry of water.

Description

The ED2000 functions by wrapping two antenna cables around the main water pipe to form a coil, creating a complex, frequency modulated, electronic magnetic waveform. This induces an oscillating electric field into the water, resulting in the agitation of water molecules sufficient enough to trigger the release of carbon dioxide and cause the premature precipitation of calcium bicarbonate. This process naturally results in a small increase in solubility, which allows the now unsaturated water to dissolve existing scale deposits and remove them from the water system. The treated water will also allow soap to lather up more effectively, leaving skin feeling smoother and hair more manageable. For water over 25 grains of hardness, it's recommended to use traditional water soften in addition to the ED2000. Water with high iron content (over 0. 3ppm) should use an iron removal filter prior to the ED2000. Homes with water mains over 1" but less than 1. 5" may need to use two ED2000 side by side, and water traveling more than 50 feet may require an additional ED2000 farther down the plumbing line. • Its a well built unit.
To descale house water.

  • New Home Install, It Works!
Update 1 year in: still working like a charm, and now the faucets furthest away from the iSpring have developed some white calcium residue that we have to clean semi-regularly. It’s minimal, but noticeable. This is because they’re so far from the iSpring unit that its effectiveness is diminished, so I take it as further evidence that the unit works exactly as described. I shudder to think of all my faucets looking like that (or likely worse). I might buy a second and install it to mitigate this, but still one VERY happy customer! Original review: I purposely waited 7 months to write this review, to give this iSpring device a fair shot to either work, or…well, not. We built a new home, so new pipes, faucets, appliances, everything. We’re also on a well here, which was new for us to get used to. The well water is really good—basically filtered mineral water, healthy and pure right from the tap with a TDS of around 550. BUT!…that also means in our first month we began to notice white chalky deposits on our taps and shower heads, and some powder on the glasses/silverware after using the dishwasher. We learned it was due to our high TDS well water, and needed a way to protect our new home’s plumbing and appliances somehow. The conventional wisdom was to install a water softener, but besides the cost we also didn’t want to add salt to our excellent tap water. So I did some pretty exhaustive research and settled on this device instead. It seemed a little like science voodoo, but I figured if it didn’t show results in a month or so I’d return it and get the water softener if I had to. Well, it did show some results, and then some more. It seemed like magic at first, but the shower heads just stopped having powder and sediment building up. The dishwasher did the same, and the taps seemed to run clearer too. We noticed the water felt different when washing—at first we told ourselves we were imagining it, and maybe we were—but soap began to sud better, and washing hands or in the shower felt less “scaly” than before. Also less water spots on surfaces. Then it just kept happening like that, and seven months after install we have absolutely no powder on the dishwasher we use almost daily, the shower heads look the same as the day they were installed, and the water has a “softer” feel. It’s NOT actually softer at all—the TDS is about the same, and the six month water test at both the well and the tap are basically identical to when we first moved in. So I’ve experienced enough to say for us, this thing works—works like a magical charm!—money well spent and im so relieved not to have to put salt in my water and maintain a softener system. I also sleep better knowing the dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge won’t get gummed up with the great minerals that are in our well water. A few items I’ll note here that might be helpful (as others’ were for me as I researched this): our well water is moderately hard, and the hardness mostly comes from calcium and iron. I don’t know how effectively this device would work on other types of hard water. We also are fortunate to have an indoor water heater and a large crawl space, so I was able to install the device after the well pump but before the water heater (this protecting it as well, I hope). So the iSpring is covering both our cold and hot water, which may not be possible in all well system setups. The install wasn’t difficult, but wasn’t exactly simple either. At one point I had to call the customer service line, which was picked up promptly by someone like it was a cell number!…and after I recovered from my surprise at getting a real human right away, he talked me through the issue I had (direction of wire wrapping) and solved the problem in short order. Last, this is the 7 month mark only—I’ll return to update if issues start happening past 12 months. Since I have a brand new plumbing system, anything that occurs will be a good benchmark for the longevity of this product. Overall, I’m an iSpring convert—it works for us, and has made a huge difference in our water quality and confidence that our new really expensive appliances won’t get gummed up with mineral deposits. It still kind of seems like magic, but science can be like that…and, so what, it works! I’m a happy customer. ... show more

  • Testing in progress - Does it even work? Let's find out!
I'll be the first to admit that I like to try odd-ball things, like essential oils and woolen dryer balls, in the hopes of finding a more environmentally-friendly and wallet-saving way of solving modern problems. But I'll also admit that most of these "new-fangled thingymabobs" are more often that not, just a waste of money. For the cost of this device and the promise made, it's either one of those two: An amazing, ingenius, cost-saving contraption or a complete waste of money. If it works at all, then it's not a waste. If it provides no improvement, then it's a scam and I'll ask for my money back. So, in an effort to approach this scientifically, I'm going to outline how I installed it, how I tested it, and whether or not I see any changes in the quality of my household water supply. Let's begin. As my recently-purchased house came with an external water connection for a whole-house water filter system, and living in Central Texas we have no crawlspaces or other easy access to water suppy pipes, I decided to install this device on the outside of my house. To protect it from the elements, I purchased an Heavy Duty Weather Proof Multi Purpose Enclosure Amphenol Broadband 9 x 9 x 4 (Amazon Part # B01N4FSKZM) which fit the device perfectly. (see photographs.) I mounted the device within the box, using wood screws and washers, and it's snug as a bug in a box. (Note, after reading comments and questions on this device, I can see where the manufacturer states that this device is only for indoors installation.) I then mounted the box to the side of my house with the included screws. Wound the wires as instructed (the provided instructions are a little confusing) and secured with my own zip ties. I used 4 clear instead of the provided 2 black. Again, see pictures. Note that my water flow goes down into the ground. Day 1. The device is connected, powered, and the little green lights are blinking. I can't help but imagine Napoleon Dynamite putting his crystals in the time traveling device and hoping for the best. But we'll see. I also purchased a Health Metric brand EC (Electric Conductivity) & TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Water Tester (Amazon Part # B01FPG89CE) to perform my own testing. I tested the calibration on the tester using a bottle of super high quality Great Value Purified Drinking Water: TDS: 21 ppm, EC: 42 mS/cm. I then tested a cup from my kitchen faucet: TDS 315 ppm, 630 mS/cm. I also retrieved the Central Texas Water Quality report from my local government, which states that last year's tests show my city having 15-26 Average Hardness, and 390-470 Average TDS. What does all this mean? While I'm no water quality expert, I can tell you that the higher the numbers, the less pure the water due to minerals and other contaminents increasing general electrical conductivity. I know there's no such thing as super-pure water (or at least, not without incredibly expensive scientific laboratories), but I can at least see that my tap water is less pure than a cheap bottle of tap water. And while the claim of this device is to remove calcium (and only calcium) from the water, the number should begin to go down over time, if the device actually performs up to its claims. I will continue to test my water every other day or so, and return every so often to this review and update it with my findings. I'll let science make a believer or a fool out of me, one way or another. And I'm starting my rating out at 3 stars, which will go down or up depending on what I see happen in the quality of the water over time. ... show more

  • Works better than anticipated
I don't normally do reviews but wanted to do this from the start. I purchased this w/o my wife or daughter knowing. We have seen scaling in our home and they had recently complained about it again. If there was a difference they would surely mention it. I started by using CLR, cleaning shower heads and faucets but left one alone on purpose. I installed the unit about a foot from where the water comes in. It is a 3/4 in water main so I got quite a lot of turns of each wire. I wrapped them as indicated by the directions and did so very tight to the pipe and to each other. After about a week my wife asked me if I had done anything to the water. Interesting as I did not let her know I purchased this or installed it. She felt a difference in the water and mentioned that the flow upstairs seemed to be better. I finally told her what I had done. So far it's been a few weeks since the install. The fixtures I cleaned with CLR are still just as clean and when I originally cleaned them. The sink I did not clean, the kitchen sink, has seen no addition to any of the scaling. Interestingly enough, the scaling in the little sprayer head has actually had the scaling disappear and is now clear. I'll leave another review in a out 6 months. ... show more

  • Is it working????
Other than blinking lights, I cannot tell if this unit is doing anything. It made me laugh that their anti tamper seals are those sticky bedazzled gems you buy at the craft store. Really? That made it feel like some cheap gimmick. They have a good scam if so, because how do I tell if it is working?? Honestly I have no measurable way to tell. Jury is out. If performance is based on blinky lights, this device is killing it. Thanks for your time. ... show more
