This is my second robot vacuum. My first robot vacuum was a no-name brand had a lot of suction, but only randomly ran around my house. It didn’t auto empty and cleaning it out every day was is a chore. Also it definitely missed areas. The iRobot i3’s software is a huge upgrade for my first robot. It learned my house and help me set up the rooms. I can have it clean a specific room just using my Alexa (or the app) or I can have it clean the entire house at once. It has a very good job cleaning my house. I have two dogs, one of which is a border collie and I’m using it every day. I don’t see any dog hair in my house as it does a great job at picking it all up. And I have it set up to go back-and-forth instead of randomly around rooms and it finds a dirty spot to hit that area two or three times. It always finds its way back to its base and south empties, which is a huge improvement from my previous vacuum which many times will get stuck or run out of power before it found its base. I love the auto empty feature, but my bag in the base only lasts about two weeks I’m guessing because of the dog hair. The manufacturer says 6 to 8 weeks. But with the trade-off of not having to clean it every day, I am willing to change the bag every two weeks. Also for comparison, the area I have it cleaning is a little over 1,100 sqft(BTW: it takes about 10 seconds to change the bag in the base.) The vacuum is quiet while cleaning but if it needs to empty its tank, the base is quite loud for about 8 to 10 seconds while emptying. If you work from home, you may want to consider scheduling the vacuum at a time when it won’t interfere with your work if you have to take calls or be on zoom. (Or the app allows you pause the vacuum & resume the cleaning later) I also like that it will return to its base and charge and then go back and finish the job picking up right where it left off. So far this vacuum has worked great and I highly recommend it. If anything changes I will update this review. ... show more

I have darker wood floors and a white dog that sheds a lot so my floors always look dirty. I have this programmed to run every morning before I get up and it does a really great job picking up all the hair and dirt. I love that you can program it and control it from your phone. I love being able to map the house which is super handy if part of your house is more high traffic and gets dirty a lot more. The app also shows you the life of the various parts you need to replace like filter and rollers. Even with running ours daily I only have to change the bag about once a month. I've owned 3 different brands and this is the best so far. I have 4 small dogs that shed A LOT and this vacuum has been the best in picking up all the dog hair. My own hair gets wound up in the wheels and brush so I have to clean often. I've had this for over a year, it still works well but noticed it getting stuck in corners more frequently and not always able to find home. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum and the home base but this has not helped. I also noticed that lately it doesn't even try to find home and ends up just dying due to no power which frustrating when I have to dig it out from under furniture. I'm not ready to give up on it though because it cleans so well ... show more

The technology is good and the unit works somewhat as advertised. There's a lot of potential here but it often leaves small debris behind. I'd say the suction power is slightly less than an average hand-held automobile vacuums. I could not justify the cleaning power for the money so I retuned it due to lackluster performance and no ability to dodge inadvertent electrical cords. ... show more

I have two dogs, one an Alaskan Malamute, so dog hair tumbleweeds are a fact of life. I use it on the first floor which is all hardwood or tile. It runs every night at 1 am, automatically empties itself, and does it again the next night. Maps the house and shows you everywhere it's cleaned on a phone app. Rarely gets stuck and cleans well. All I have to do is occasionally vacuum behind and under furniture. I only put 4 stars for deep cleaning because I don't know, I suspect it will do fine but haven't used it on carpet. ... show more

We had another original model that we moved upstairs, so this one is now the primary floor. I LOVE the way it automatically empties the bin too - I don't have to chase it down 2-3 times a day to do that. Would love a re-usable bin instead of disposable bags, but that's minor. We did have a problem with the extractor brushes after about 4 months, but the iRobot app called for help and the tech expedited a new part to us right away - super easy to pop in too.
