Before a surgery, I looked at a TON of recliners before selecting this one. I liked the fact that it reclined flat and that you could move the back rest and foot rest separately and stop them at any point you wished rather than certain "preset" options. It also has a lift assist element that I thought could be useful. The look of this chair is different than anything in my home, but because it satisfied my recovery requirements, I went for it. Arrived on time and was super fast to put together. If you need to lie flat it has to be quite far away from the wall. Almost in the middle of the room for the small room I designated for recovery. But now that I am not using it to sleep at night, I can move it closer to the wall as I won't be lying flat on it any time soon. One of the buttons on the back fell off the first time I sat in it. Other than that it has held up well for the past couple of months and the chenille is soft and comfortable. The cord for the massage/heat controller is oddly short. Like you can hardly look at it from in the chair - you have to kind of hang off the side to use it. But that doesn't really matter because to me both the heat and massage elements were so faint I could hardly tell they were on. The "lift" element to help you get up works well but it is very slow moving. I am happy with the chair and considering getting another because I feel guilty making my husband sit in a less comfortable chair while we watch tv together. I had to buy a chair for a family member who has been recently diagnosed with MS. It took months for me to find the right one, fingers crossed, I hope this it. I was very reluctant to order a chair on-line and to pay this price, but I will say, everything has worked out so far. I had no issues with delivery, both boxes arrived together. I only needed assistance to bring the box containing the bottom part of the chair in the house, as it is heavy. I just got done putting it together, which was effortless, plus I was able to do it solo. I am sure I will update this review the longer the chair is in use to make sure all mechanisms work as they should, this is still a concern of mine. For now, all I can say is, it is really nice and I am glad I decided to purchase this chair. The material and size are spot on and I hope it brings years of comfort. ... show more

My siblings and I bought this chair for my 85 year old dad. He loves it. It was easy for him to learn how to use. It was very easy to put together. The heat element on it is fantastic. My dad is on blood thinners; therefore always cold. The heating keeps my mom comfortable as well. The only reason that I tood 1 star off is because of the shipping. It shipped straight from the manufacturer. The origninal shipping information did not show that it was in 2 separate boxes. The 1st box was delivered on the correct date. I contacted the manufacturer via Amazon's link and never received a reply back. about 1 week later, the shipping notification showed that our 2nd box would be delivered the next day. Poor communication, but great product. On a side note, my brother's girlfriend ordered her dad a similar lift chair from a different manufacturer that cost $400 more. It wasn't as comfortable as my dad's and was not easy to use. ... show more

We wish we had found this chair sooner! My mother loved this chair and it helped us as caregivers! The chair has many wonderful options and infinite positioning selections which we found extremely valuable to help alleviate pressure points. The fabric was durable and soft. The seat cushion was the optimal firmness between comfortably soft, yet firm enough to allow for her to exit the chair without struggling to get out of it. I highly recommend this beautifully upholstered (brown chenille), extremely well-functioning recliner, which has been a godsend for my 94-year-old father! I bought it for him after he was seriously injured as a front seat passenger in a hit-and-run automobile accident—and what a wonderful difference this highly cushioned, electronically adjustable recliner has made in Dad's quality of life! This is the only chair my elderly father can sit in for hours without experiencing pain as he recovers from a fractured sternum and neck and back injuries. And the recliner's lift and lay flat capabilities make it easy for Dad's primary caretaker, his niece, to help him stand up and get a secure hold on his walker or to lay him down for a nap. I recently saw this chair in person for the first time and was very pleased with how nice it looks in my dad's living room, how well it performs (the German-made motors are quiet), and how happy Dad and his niece are with it. This generously sized recliner arrived in two big boxes a couple of weeks after it was ordered and was a snap for my brother, who lives next door to Dad, to assemble.
