  • 2nd update: do NOT waste your money!
2nd update: finally had to buy a new case because this one is now more than completely useless. I had figured out a way to keep it on the case after my last update. Then it slipped off the bed and my iPad came out went across the floor. Thankfully no damage (especially since it’s less than 6 months old) but now the iPad barely sits in this thing. Basically, it’s just resting in it but not secured at all. I’m only using this piece of junk until my new case comes in. The color is the only thing this has going for it. What a waste. Update: just a week after my review was posted, my iPad is now popping out of the case. It won’t stay flush in it anymore on one side and there are more cracks forming at the spot where the pics were taken. This is ridiculous! I’ve had this for less than 2 months! After searching high and lo for a case like this for my new iPad, I was excited to find this one. I had specifics in mind: full keyboard, trackpad, pencil holder, multiple positions and protection for the iPad itself. I’ve had an iPad mini for a few generations and my last case like this had a compact keyboard with too many shortcuts. Perfect for my smaller hands but still, could never keep the keys straight in my head. This case seemed to fit the bill for what I needed for my “regular” size iPad and again, searched for weeks for the right one and wanted to wait at least a month of using it before posting my review. Here’s what I can tell you about this particular model… Pros: Multiple angles are great. I use it mostly folded with the keyboard tucked inside, but when it’s time to use the keyboard, it’s a quick flip and good to go. Also, can adjust it a lot for better weight distribution on my iPad cushion. Super fast Bluetooth connection. Connects from the time you turn the keyboard on. The trackpad is fantastic and very responsive. Takes a little getting used to because it is quite sensitive but once you do, it’s a great feature on this case. The keyboard is pretty smooth when typing, I’m a fast typer and it seems to keep up ok. I only use the backlighting at certain times but I do like that it has adjustable brightness so when I do use it it’s not overwhelming and fact you can change the color on them is just a bonus. The emoji key was a nice surprise for me. Wasn’t expecting that. So it’s easy to jump to them when need be. I have had this since right after Christmas and haven’t had to recharge it yet after the initial charging up so I can’t comment on how fast it does recharge, but the charge has lasted this long so that’s another pro right there. The buttons and charging ports for the iPad itself are fully accessible and I’ve had no problems there. There are rubber “feet” under the keyboard section which is great and keeps the whole thing from sliding around no matter how you use this. The color of the actual unit is represented very well on the listing. Again I was looking for something that matched my small business colors and this does exactly. Cons: Less than a month of having the case and without ever having been dropped, there are cracks in it. And in a strange place too. They are not in a spot that gets a lot of movement so I didn’t pick up on them until it was too late to return or notify the seller. But there are multiple cracks in the upper right hand corner over the home button side. Again, just an odd place but there they are. Just now as I was taking the pics, I went to move the case and pieces broke off in my hand. The iPad is still sitting securely in the case but I will now be checking it constantly. It took two weeks to get the iPad to firmly sit in this case. The corner with the volume/power buttons kept popping out until finally I got it to push in and stay in. I don’t know if it’s that the case is hard plastic and has no give and needed to adjust to the size of the iPad but it’s in there now. I’m wondering i that is what caused the crack on the other side…the stress of conforming to the iPad. The pencil holder, something that was a requirement for me for my getting this type of case, doesn’t fit the pencil I have. I don’t have an “official” apple model but one that I got here on Amazon. I use it constantly but the holder on the case is too narrow for it and has absolutely no stretch or give to it at all. The only thing that fits in the loop is the tip. Again, I don’t know if it’s because it’s not an Apple Pencil but be aware of this if you have a different brand. I want to keep trying to stretch it out but am afraid it will break the case where it’s attached if I do that. Basically it’s now just an empty worthless loop on the side of my case. One major con of this is the weight. The iPad itself already has heft to it (as I’m used to the minis, I’m still getting used to the larger size) but the case really adds extra weight, felt it when it was still in the box! It is constantly tipping over onto the screen if I go to move it at all when I have it in the tablet position. I’m really afraid that the screen is going to finally shatter one of these times it goes over. Note that there the iPad almost sits flush in the case so there is no real cushion between the edges and the glass of the iPad. (Please see the pro though on the fact that you can adjust it for weight distribution, as that comes in handy for this instance. But still, if you get up and move this aside, be sure it’s tilted back or it will tip over screen side down. Meaning, you can’t use this on any kind of tablet holder at a straight angle. It has to be tiled a bit so it doesn’t tip. In a nutshell, while I like the case and will continue to use it, I will be keeping my eye on the cracks and broken piece to make sure they don’t chip the screen (something that happened to me in previous cases on my old iPad…not of this brand) as well as if the case has any impact on the screen at all since there is a lot of pressure being put on the iPad while holding it in. I know that’s what we want in a case, but if this already started to crumble in just a couple of weeks, that means that there is pressure on it somewhere. Frankly I’d rather the case take the stress than the iPad! Would I get this particular one again? Probably not. Only because of the cracking and not being able to use the pencil loop. I can’t buy a new one right now so I’ll live with this one. Returns are a pain anyway but still sorry I didn’t notice the cracks until after the return window had closed. ... show more

  • Junk! Cute color that’s about it.
After being pleasantly surprised by the look of it I was excited to start using it. I plugged it in to charge, left it for several hours. It would turn on then immediately turn off. Even while plugged to the wall. If it’s not plugged to the wall it won’t turn on at all. Soo thinking it was just me I left it overnight- charging. The light turned green so I unplugged it and turned it on. It last only long enough to attempt at connecting it to my tablet then turned of. Very disappointed. 😩 ... show more
