Chances are, your EV dealer tried to sell you a dealer-installed charger at a cost of several thousand dollars and you decided to seek...other avenues. Good choice. With 48 amps of output (with a properly wired 220v outlet w/ 60A service), this charger performs very close to the dealer-installed option, at a FRACTION of the price. The app seems decent, and the charger is waterproof, which is nice if you plan on installing it outside. If you live in an area where it snows, however, I'd honestly recommend getting an EV charger enclosure for it, not because snow will damage the charger, but because cleaning snow and ice off of it before you go to use it is a real pain. Amazon sells EV charger enclosures if you plan on an outdoor install, it might be worth a look depending on your location. I really like this charger. It seems very solidly made, and it checks all the boxes that I need checked. Especially the one marked "save some bucks". 5 stars. ... show more

We have a Tesla and the OEM charger broke down on us after a year. We already had a J1772 to Tesla adaptor so gave this charger a try to see if it would be a good replacement for the Tesla charger. This charger requires professional installation and will be hardwired into our garage. The unit can be installed outdoors (ours is going on the side of our garage for easy drive up charging) and is energy star rated. The ability to utilize a phone app to check progress and start or stop charging, plus the speed at which EVs can be charged make this an excellent automated home addition. The design is sleek and the features are everything we want in a system. We have a guest house that we occasionally rent to traveling nurses and share frequently with friends, and many of them ask for this feature. This means we can not only keep our car charged, but we can offer an amenity to any of our guests, as well. While EVs are not as popular in our state as some others, we live in a larger city where EVs make sense, even though charging stations are not easy to find. Our current charger is not spectacular and lacks all but the bare features. This is a true upgrade and we're excited to get it installed. This charger requires proficient establishment and will be designed into our carport. The unit can be introduced outside our own is going on our carport for simple drive up charging and is energy star evaluated. The capacity to use a telephone application to check progress and begin or quit charging, in addition to the speed at which EVs can be charged make this a magnificent mechanized home expansion. The plan is smooth and the highlights are all that we need in a framework. We have a visitor house that we sporadically lease to voyaging medical caretakers and offer much of the time with companions, and large numbers of them request this element. This implies we can keep our vehicle charged, yet we can offer a convenience to any of our visitors, also. While EVs are not as famous in that frame of mind as some others, we live in a bigger city where EVs seem fine, despite the fact that charging stations are difficult to track down. This is a nice charger that has everything we wanted in a home charger. First off it was in our price range, It is a 48amp charger, and it has a heavier and longer cable as opposed to our old charger. WiFi was a must have and we are glad we got one with it. The plugs fit well and are not too tight or too loose. We have used it a nightly for a month now and we are happy with it. We upgraded from our old charger but kept it as a back up.
