Description

Loved this book the second installment in the Lumber Baron’s Daughters series.I loved it so much I couldn’t put it down.The sisters are all at Zane’s ranch and things pick up speed and start to happen.Zane and Michelle go to town to get married and gets kidnapped for a short time.Michelle is also building things at the branch to water the fields and get water to the parched cattle.The Benteens get into more trouble and the Marshals come to help. ... show more

The first several chapters have a LOT of backstory plot catch up for those who didn’t read the first book. I understand the necessity of it, but I highly suggest reading this series in order because it would have been overwhelming to me if I had not. Otherwise, the book is great with plenty of plot twists, drama and romance. I enjoyed the characters and am looking forward to starting the next book. ... show more

This is light reading with a good plot and a clear background Christian warning against loving power and money too much. The characters are well developed and appealing. The enemies pursuit through out the book keeps you on your toes and wondering how they will escape.

Picked up right where the first book stopped. I actually enjoyed this novel more. I felt there was always something happening. Either on the ranch, at the mansion, in Sacramento or San Francisco. More family to add to the mix as well I’m glad we added to Zane’s family and cleared a path for the Stiles women. Can’t wait for the next one in the series. ... show more
