  • So far so good on a non Intex pool
Style: Saltwater System Pattern Name: Clear Saltwater System Size: For Pools up to 15,000 Gallons
The media could not be loaded. ***original review from April 2018*** I had the last generation salt system on my pool and got a season out of it before it stopped working. Intex sent me a new one but I bought this one because I couldn't wait two weeks for it to arrive. When this one dies I have a backup while i'm waiting for a replacement. I bought this well aware I will be getting 1-2 seasons max out of this. I have an 18' round steel above ground pool and this works great. I keep it on three hours a day and have no issues getting sufficient chlorine in my pool. It's been running for about 45 days so far and no issues. It has a three year warranty and their customer service is good overall. Replacements take a couple weeks to arrive so keep it in mind when your unit craps out. Even thought the life span is so short I still think it's worth not having to deal with chlorine in my pool. No smelly skin, no chemical balancing issues, no green pool. Saltwater is the BEST. If you are like me and installing this on a regular non intex pool they make this adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012BUM5V8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This way you dont need to make something from PVC. One end screws onto the salt system and your pool hoses slide over the other end and get clamped down. No leaks at all. I'm going to update this review at the end of this season or if the unit dies before then. **October 2018 Update** I just closed my pool down yesterday. As I was closing it down I thought I would record a video with my opinions. Feel free to watch it or just read below. The generator functioned as intended the entire season. It kept my 18" above ground non Intex pool crystal clear all year. The only thing I added to my pool was to bring the hardness level up a bit and added a bit of salt when I had to drain the pool because of the rain. Besides that I put nothing else in my pool from April to October. It ran for four hours a day and kept everything beautiful. I'm hoping I get a lot more use from it next year when it's opened again but we shall see. For $129 will keep buying these even if they only last a year, because it saves from having to buy chlorine and the frustration of having to add it and keep everything balanced. Highly recommended for an above ground pool Intex or not. **update April 2019** Opened my pool April 2019. Plugged this in and it fired right up. I installed a new liner so I filled with fresh water, put in the salt to about 2,800 and balanced the water. So far the generator fired right back up and is sanitizing my water. I will update the review again if the unit dies or makes it this year*** ... show more

  • Easy set up and works great: years worth of dependability
Style: Saltwater System Pattern Name: Clear Saltwater System Size: For Pools up to 7,000 Gallons
Update: I’ve been running this saltwater system for years now and it’s absolutely splendid! Highly recommend. My reason for updating my review is to hopefully help someone else who has encountered the same problems I have. When I pulled my pool out to set it up this year I had no power to the saltwater system. No lights no nothing!! I did some googling and lots of reading which led me in a ton of different directions. Being that I come from a family of humans who prefer to fix things instead of buying new I was determined to fix this little guy! Also I’m broke and can’t afford a new saltwater system! If you’re in the same boat I am and you have no power to the unit try replacing the GFCI (plug) on the unit. They aren’t terribly expensive at your local hardware store and if I can figure out how to replace it than anyone can. Lucky for me I had a spare filter that was too small for my pool in the garage that happened to have a 120v 15 amp GFCI on it. I took the GFCI off of that and put it into my saltwater system. Ten minutes and $0 later my pool is fully functional and ready for summer. Thank goodness because I didn’t want to go without my summer happy place! I really hope this helps someone else save some time and money. I would first like to say out by telling everyone you need to pair this with a pool pump 700gph or better. I planned to use this with my intex 10x30 above ground pool. It came with a pump that was only 330 gph. I learned the hard way. I have my pool all set to go and keep getting the low pump flow error message. So I have to wait for the new pump to arrive. Hopefully I don’t have a green pool by then! I am excited to get this project finished so I can enjoy my backyard oasis! This filter was really what I needed to make it all happen. I love the concept and how easy it was to set it up. ... show more

  • Great Product, Fantastic Customer Service
Style: Saltwater System Pattern Name: Clear Saltwater System Size: For Pools up to 7,000 Gallons
I have this for slightly more than a year and it has been working great. However, recently the unit reported low salt. I added more salt and still had issues. After getting it tested, my salt was now really high. So, I jumped on TFP and found that this is a common occurence on these salt cells, the titanim anode goes bad and reports "low salt". I called up Intex, they processed my claim, asked for the receipt and sent me the replacement. It was wonderful. So, while I'm disappointed the anode went bad, the top notch customer service more than made up for that. I had to go without the salt cell for a time, but the ease of getting the part replaced made it better. I'm going to get a new Intex filter to replace my underpowered one, based on this experience. Thank you, Intex, for actually caring about your customers and standing behind your products!! ... show more

  • great system
Style: Sand Filter Pump & Saltwater System Pattern Name: Sand Filter Pump & Saltwater ... Size: For Pools up to 15,000 Gallons
Love the Intex systems, easy to use and run quietly. Only problem I encountered it did not come with a owners manual, so I had a little problem putting it together until I looked at the pictures from Amazon.
