Received this as a gift. Setup shortly after receiving, which was pretty straightforward, and had a lot of fun using the laser sight after finishing the setup. A few days later, I picked the bug-a-salt up and the laser sight didn’t work. I changed the batteries, checked everything on the laser sight, and went through the setup instructions end-to-end multiple times. Nothing worked. Unfortunately, this was two days past the return window. While the single use was fun, the product is bad quality and I regret the purchase. ... show more

The printed instructions are ok, but they included a QR code to scan for an install video which is very good. The install is quick and easy. They include extra batteries and adhesive of the laser switch. I positioned my switch on the slide where my left thumb rests. Good spot. They don't mention positioning aiming adjusting screws, but it works best to have one screw at the 12 or 6 O'clock position and the other at 3 or 9 just like a rifle scope. Makes dialing in the laser a lot quicker. My laser is not perfectly parallel to the barrel so there is a little error as distance changes (I may work on that by shimming the laser). I just set it up for the distance I usual fire and it is working great. Dusted off a few of those pesky flies already this morning. Great product. ... show more

This is a fun little extra for your salt gun. Don't expect it to be super accurate. We actually ended up taking it off our gun and using it as a cat toy. It comes with two different backs one with just a button and one with button on an extension. The one with just a button you simply click it on and then click it off. The one with the extension button, that's meant to be placed on the salt gun, you have to hold down to keep the laser on. ... show more

This Laser Sight is very well made and the additional corded momentary contact switch to turn on the laser when needed is a great idea. You don't need to turn the laser on and leave it on all of the while you are using your Bug-A-Salt. Just hold the contact switch mounted on the cocking slide when your ready to aim, shoot your target and release to turn off the laser, which also saves battery power. It mounts and adjusts easily and you can precisely sight in your Bug-A-Salt with the vertical and horizontal adjusting Allen screws, very similar to real gun sights. This laser sight makes hitting your target much easier and faster, as you don't need to look down the barrel sights to accurately hit your target. IMO this sight is better built, has an uniquely designed switch and has a lower price than the Bug-A-Salt Laser Sights. When I bought this laser sight, the Bug-A-Salt Laser Sights were out of stock and more expensive, which caused me to look for something else. I'm very glad I found this sight. Maybe I didn't read enough into this thing, or I got excited about what I wanted this to be. So point blank, it reminds me of a shotgun outcome, only with table salt. I thought more like rock salt & ordered the laser attachment thinking I was going to be some sniper James Bond I guess. Giving 3 stars because it's mostly just my fault for not looking into it. However, the difference in what I thought up of this thing & what it actually is, makes the cost ridiculous. Oh & becareful the tiny little grains of salt to get into your eye. It just shoots it all over like salt confetti. Maybe I'll use this thing to be funny salting dishes at a BBQ. ... show more

My husband found the Bug-A-Salt online after we got an influx of houseflies in our house. We thought the laser sight would be a helpful addition to the gun...and it was! My husband now enjoys shooting those flies and bigger bugs (like the dreaded roaches that seem to find a way into our house during our rainy summers...ugh). It took a few tries for him to get comfortable with the setup, but he’s a pro now. The laser sight is a big enhancement, is really easy to install, and accurate. You can’t beat the price and looks like it’s tailor-made for the gun. We are very satisfied customers. While I’d rather not have the bugs to deal with, being in south Florida, that’s not a reasonable expectation. So in the meantime, hubby keeps the gun next to his chair so he can shoot and kill those insects. ... show more
