This is a very good starter kit. The floss is decent, comes with several colors, needles, a threader, pretty much everything but the hoop and fabric.

I was pleasantly surprised by this embroidery kit, which has everything a person would want except the fabric! There are a plethora of lovely cotton threads, both in skeins and on spools in the organizer, as well as a full grouping of sewing tools that will be useful for any hand work project. I am getting back into needlework and over the years have lost track of a lot of this, so it was nice to be able to pick up a kit that gets me started without running around all over the fabric store looking for the pieces. As I go along I might get some different threads and such, but this will get me started, and would be excellent for a beginner who is learning cross stitch, crewel work, needlepoint, or other hand embroidery skills. Love this little case!! My daughter asked if I could get it for her and she loves it. Started making bracelets the day it was delivered. TONS of string colors for making bracelets and other things. Lots of colors and although some are already wound on plastic holders, it took me hours to finish the rest. Plus I had to buy more holders and more storage containers. Don’t know about the quality yet as I haven’t had time to use them but will update review once I do.

I really liked this kit. It came with a great color variety and the floss is great material and is soft and thick. It doesn't fray at the ends like most floss and it seems like great quality.
