This little kit was just what I needed. I was worried the quality would be poor but it's not the thread is great and the variety of colors is awesome and for what you pay you are really getting your money's worth. I love that it's all easy to organize in the little case as well.

I honestly wanted this just for the thread; I bought some cross stitch patterns and planned to use it to relax in the evenings away from social media. I have needles and so on already, but didn't need them as everything is in the box. You have a pincushion, needles, scissors, and needle threader! I ordered this kit over others because the threads have DMC numbers, were already on bobbins, and had 250 colors so I should be able to get some stitching in before I need other colors. They were sorted by color so I emptied them all out and sorted by number, making a list of what I had at the same time. After filling each box in turn from my sorted piles, I put a note on each level so I'd know what numbers were in that one. I've started my first pattern and had most of the colors! If you end up needing more than one skein, you will need to get DMC since these are not sold individually. Colors may not perfectly match, but I'm amusing myself, not looking to please the cross stitch police! I am very pleased with the quality, sheen, and how well the thread sews without tangling. I got this for my daughter and her friends who love making bracelets at camp during the summer. It was a big hit with a lot of colors. The carrying case makes it perfect to take with her. She loved that all the thread is already wrapped around the plastic cards so she didn't need to do that. The thread is a little thicker - perfect for bracelets. She also used it to embroidery a t-shirt, but it is too thick to use with seed beads. ... show more

Great starter kit. I bought it because I didn't have any embroidery thread. It's been a couple of decades since I've embroidered anything. What I liked most was the amount of colors and that the thread prewound on the flat bobbins. I also like the carrying case. The thread itself is good quality.     • Great, just one small flaw
This was exactly what I was looking for when I picked up cross stitching again. It keeps everything organized and in one place, it has all the tools you’ll need, and there’s plenty of variety in colors to do basic projects. The only problem I have with it is that the spools of thread cannot be stored upright. I would like to be able to see the numbers on them at a glance, but if you stack them with the numbers on top, they’re too tall to shut the case all the way! Besides that, it’s a great place to start for cross stitching/embroidery. You might still need to buy a few extra colors if you’re looking to do something specific, but I’ve found close enough matches in this kit for everything I’ve worked on so far. ... show more

Just received this and have only opened it up to check the contents - but what I have seen so far is impressive. This was smaller that I had expected. Which is absolutely a good thing. The stackable holder packs a lot of items into a very compact space which is awesome considering how crafts tend to sprawl. The box itself feels study enough for good use from an adult or older child to use without breakage. The floss felt like good quality, and I am a big fan of the embossed bobbins. A few of the notions felt a little bit on the cheaper side but still worth it for those starting out that don’t already have equipment. I bought this mainly to get the storage box and marked bobbins, but the entire set is extremely well put together and worth the price. ... show more
