  • Best present I ever bought!
Style Name: Standard
Short Version: Christmas gift, back and knee problems, high blood pressure, easy assembly, works wonders. Long Version: I bought this for my husband as a late Christmas present. He has struggled with back problems for years. I got tired of hearing his daily complaints, and when it started affecting his job and pain was running down his legs, I bribed him with some adult favors (T.M.I?) to finally go and get an MRI. I had a better chance of winning the billion dollar lottery than getting him to go to the doctor, so hey, sometimes you gotta hit below the belt ;) He was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and acute arthritis in his shoulders and hips. He's 45 and I'm 36. But enough about us, let's get to the table. Packaging The packaging was great and the pieces were secure. No damage or problems whatsoever. Assembly The instructions weren't great, but my husband is a carpenter and mechanically inclined and he was able to assemble it quite easily. If it would have just been me, I might have had some issues, but together we had it down. It comes with some wrenches, but if you have your own, it's best to use them. The ones that come with it aren't the greatest and bend easily. We put it together in about 30 mins, could have been a little faster but the kids just had to 'help'. I'm pretty sure it folds up, but I haven't used that feature yet . We use it every day, sometimes twice a day, so we haven't need to fold it up. The Inversion Table First impressions of the table are wonderful. The table was sturdy and I didn't feel any discomfort or safety issues using it. My husband LOVES it. He said it's done wonders for his back and I can tell. Before I purchased it, he could barely move at times. His legs would give out randomly and sometimes he'd wince and just sit on the ground in pain. (He was a little more dramatic than that but he may read this.) I was hesitant to get the table at first because he has high blood pressure and I've heard that you shouldn't use these if you have high blood pressure. And his BP is crazy high, many times both numbers are 3 digits. He always blamed his high blood pressure on his high pain level. So, we've been using it together and we've been going slow. (Please take it slow if you have high blood pressure. It still works.) The available inversion increments are 20, 40, 60, and 80. We haven't gone past 20 yet. Even at the lowest level he's seen amazing results. We started using it 2 minutes at a time for a couple of weeks and even though I don't have back problems (knock on wood), I feel great after a couple of minutes on it too. It's so relaxing. He's 6 ft tall and I'm 5'8 and I usually don't adjust it from his level and it feels fine for me. I've read a lot of complaints about the feet and ankle holds on inversion tables, but since we haven't gone past 20, we haven't had any problems, but if we ever make it to 80 I'll update. We are now using it at 4 minutes each still at the lowest increment and we are both loving the results. We'll move up to 40 soon for 2 minutes and continue to slowly increase our incline. Between using this table and a Turmeric supplement, my husband is 90% pain free and his BP is finally normal. Bottom line: Great price, great results, fast shipping, love love love it. To quote my husband, "I wish I would have got this 20 years ago." ... show more

  • Good value; nice entry level inversion table.
Style Name: Standard
I am reviewing the Innova ITX9600 approximately 1 week after I received it, so interpret accordingly. This arrives in a well-designed box, nearly completely disassembled. The box weighs around 55 lbs I think, and mine arrived without damage, so the cardboard and sparse use of foam blocks was adequate, though I would not call the packaging excessively padded. I advise that you inspect the box before opening and take photos or video as you open it if you think that there may be damage. Mine was undamaged and ready to assemble. Nuts and Bolts are packaged in a nice shrink-wrapped "sheet," where individual bubbles of hardware are clearly labeled "step 1, step 2" etc. This makes it super easy to follow the installation instructions, and instills confidence that you do get all of the necessary hardware--nothing is missing. Installation instructions are straightforward and easy to accomplish if you have average assembly experience. The hardware set includes crappy/disposable wrenches and a Phillips head screwdriver with this product. I recommend using real tools, as there are enough nuts to tighten that the disposable ones they provide will bend by the time you are finished. The one critique I have for this item is that the 4 plastic ends that slide onto the ends of the tubes that touch the floor do not stay in well, and will provide very minimal floor protection. I have this table on a hardwood floor, but have to use rugs to protect the floor with or without these cheap plastic caps. That's a minor flaw for the price, but be warned that you should have a carpet under this to protect HW floors, and to keep it from sliding around while you use it. Now to usage...I'm sure the benefit of a table like this varies depending on your specific injury/issue, and how you use it. I have 1 herniated disk and several compromised disks in the low back, with constant but pre-surgical symptoms of sciatica, accompanied by unpredictable bouts of acute but debilitating low back pain. I am hoping to use this table to extend the time between the acute bouts, and relieve some of the sciatica. I am not using this under medical supervision, so I'm taking matters slowly. I am using the table most days at the 30 degree setting, and will "hang" there for 10-15 minutes while listening to the news. I must admit that even at this setting (second from the lowest), there is significant head pressure that builds up from the fluid shift from foot to neck/head. It is not uncomfortable, but it gets your attention. Interestingly, my leg pain goes away almost instantly upon inversion at this angle, and it seems to last for a while after returning upright--so I'm encouraged. I like how balanced I feel on this when it's set up to my correct height. It gently rolls you from upright to horizontal, then from horizontal back to inversion, all by leaning back and lifting your arms as weight. Once inverted, it is easy to re-invert using the handle bars. It's very smooth, and should be very gentle unless you "slam" yourself backwards (which is probably possible, though I haven't tried). The padding on the table itself is pretty minimal, and I wish it was more substantial. I suspect that more expensive units have better padding, but for the price this seems fine. It's not something that I plan on spending hours on anyway, so there's that. Overall, I would recommend this inversion table, as long as you've done research on this type of treatment, and you know what you're getting into. There's no guarantee that this is going to work for you, but at the price point, for me it was worth the risk. So far, I'm encouraged that it can help my specific situation as described above, but if the relief is short lived or if this table makes my symptoms worse over time, it should be an easy thing to sell. ... show more
