    • Best one I have used yet! Super powerful and very quiet.
I've tried different air pumps over the years for both my aquariums and plant cloning/hydroponics systems. This one is by far the best air pump style I have used. Its powerful enough to run sponge filters in multiple tanks and seems well built. I have it running 4 double sponge filters (1 in each tank, 2-20gal long display tanks, 1-10gal quarantine tank, 1-5gal fry tank) on the low setting and it pushes out a lot of air. I could easily see this handling 2-4 40gal breeder tanks still on the low setting. Put it on high setting if you want a faster flow or to handle more tanks/airstones. Its super quiet, I hardly even notice it is running. It really is worth the extra cash over the cheap $10-$20 ones (tetra, hitop, etc) that barely handle 1 tank, are loud as hell, and burn out in a few months. Not sure about how long it will last, but so far its been about 3 months and still going strong. I plan to get another one soon for my other tanks so I can toss out the noisy ones. EDIT: 2 years and still going strong. This pump has run consistently 24hrs a day for 2 solid years. It is a tiny wee bit louder now due to age, but still runs the same amount of tanks just as well. This pump was above and beyond what I expected. I have had issues with air flow and air stones for the past year with my larger fish tank. I recently tried a powerful pump that finally had the air flow but it ran extremely hot and the noise was super loud. I figued I would give this one a shot and hope for the best. Not only does it have plenty of air flow but it is silent. I am running two 10 inch air srones on low and the valve is turned down and the air flow is amazing. I could have a much larger tank with all 4 lines running and still have plenty of air flow. The noise is non existent. When I plugged it in I couldn't believe it. The bubbles coming from the airstones sound loud compared to the pump. You could have it anywhere on the outside of the tank and it would still be quiet. The price was great as well. I paid a few bucks more than the trash pumps I've replaced over and over and it outshines them times ten. As it is new I can't say how long it will last but as many as I've replaced that didn't work a quarter as well it seems well worth the extra few bucks. ... show more

These are so quiet, I don't think I've ever owned a pump this quiet. I liked my first one so much I got another one to replace an old Tetra Whisper. The power is pretty great. One of mine runs 4 large water features in my 75 gallon plus two in a 10 gallon. The other runs 8 uplift tubes in a 46 gallon bowfront. Both tanks are pretty deep and the pump works great without losing power between air devices. If it comes on sale, I'm gonna buy another one. ... show more

    • It’s quiet, at first.
Great pump, it was basically silent the first month. Then the small buzz started. No big deal. It would stop after a few seconds. Now (after the second month) It’s loud. I have it on top of a piece of foam and just lightly touching the top of it makes it stop for about 10 seconds. Then it comes back. I really wanted to love this pump, it works great, it’s just SO loud, the tone of buzzing is annoying, and it’s in my living room. Help ☹️ * edited to add, I put some padded foam under it, and a layer of cardboard between the pad and the pump. It is silent now. Love the pump. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I needed an air pump for my outdoor goldfish mini pond. This pump has plenty of power for the application I’m using it for ( three 20-gallon sponge filters). This is by far the quietest air pump I’ve ever had. I really can’t hear it. I live next to a busy street, so I get a lot of road noise on my patio. However, I waited till all cars passed by in my video so you could get a good listen to how quiet fhis machine is. Definitely happy with it! ... show more

This pump works well, and is very quiet. It supplies air for 4 air supplies, in two 40 gallon tanks. I had bought one that looks like a fish, which didn't work at all! Very happy with the power this one has, and how quiet it is! It won't drown out the sound of your TV !

    • Works like a champ!
I put this in a large pool that we grow fish in and it does a fine job of keeping the water aerated and moving. It's worked all summer with a problem. I recommend this if you need to pump a large volume of air and a small aquarium pump won't work for you.

So after 3 months it started getting louder! Now it sounds like I have a helicopter! If you looking to get a few months worth this is the right air pump for you! Make a complete disappointment.
