Features

  • INCEPTION IS PROTEIN FIRST Inception is formulated with animal protein first to serve your canine companions needs. We understand your canine companions are carnivore first, omnivore second and thrive with good animal protein in their diets. At Inception, we ensure our first two ingredients are animal protein.
  • INCEPTION CHICKEN FORMULA - Our Inception Chicken recipe contains chicken and chicken meal as the first two ingredients. Chicken is an excellent source of lean protein providing high-quality, essential amino acids, and trace minerals. Chicken is a protein-dense ingredient, meaning that it provides a lot of protein compared to fat in a given amount of meat. This makes it an excellent source of protein that may help in weight control because fat contains more calories than protein. Chicken is high in vitamin B3, vitamin B6 and vitamin B5. Its also a great source of selenium and phosphorus.
  • INCEPTION IS LEGUME FREE Inception formulas are free of legumes, potatoes, corn, wheat, soy, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. We want to give your canine companions everything they need for a long and happy life with you.
  • INCEPTION BOUND WITH HEALTHY GRAINS All our recipes contain wholesome, all-natural ingredients such as oats, millet and milo. Oats are good healthy fiber source. Oats contain beta-glucan, which is a soluble fiber that helps aid digestion, oats are full of linoleic acid, a type of omega-6 fatty acid, which helps keep skin strong and healthy. Oats also contain many essential minerals such as zinc, iron, manganese and copper. Millet is a healthy source of carbohydrates for most dogs, and is easier to digest. Compared to many other grains, millet has a relatively high protein content. This may be more suitable for dogs with food sensitivities to more common grains.
  • IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOSTER - To help booster the immune system, weve included ground flaxseed, which is an excellent source of plant omega-3 fatty acids and a great source of natural antioxidants as well.
  • VITIMINS AND MINERALS - Weve packed Inception with vitamins and essential nutrients sourced from a European human consumable vitamin plant made specifically for us, making our recipes complete and balanced. Inception supplements all of its dog diets with extra taurine and L-Carnitine.
  • INCEPTION IS COMPLETE AND BALANCED DOG FOOD The chicken in the Inception Chicken recipe comes from the rolling hills of Minnesota, cage-free, thus having a positive effect on your dogs food. The oats used in Inception come from the pristine oat fields of Canada. Oats are high in fiber and contain antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, all working together to promote and maintain the health and well-being of your dog.
  • SPECIALLY FORMULATED RECIPE - Inception Chicken Recipe for dogs is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) for all life stages except growth of large size dogs (70 lb. or more as an adult).

  • High quality legume free!
Flavor Name: Chicken Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
Legume free is Good! The found out that grain free diets caused heart problems in dogs because they used legumes ( pea, chickpeas, beans, etc) as a cheap filler instead of rice, corn, wheat etc. This food has no legumes or other cheap fillers (like corn) high quality ingredients and my dogs sensitive tummy does well on it. I mix it with a but of sensitive stomach wet food because my dog is picky ... show more

  • Great for my dog with allergies
Flavor Name: Pork Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
My dog has a chicken allergy and it is difficult to find foods with good amounts of protein that don't have chicken. I am glad I found this. He enjoys it much more than the salmon foods we have had to stick with in the past.

  • Pros and (gassy) Cons
Flavor Name: Pork Size: 27 Pound (Pack of 1)
We found this food while seeking a dog food that would suit the needs of both of our dogs. We were looking for something that both had meat as a primary ingredient and avoided particular food allergies that each of them had. Everything started out great, both dogs loved the food and ate it happily, but we didn't know the trouble that was already brewing (literally). Under the COVID-19 pandemic it has become common place to wear face masks out in public. Thanks to this food our family has become accustomed to wearing masks for protection inside our house as well. It started one evening a few days after we started switching over to this food. Our larger dog (a border collie-husky mix) jumped up on our couch next to us. As he jumped up there was a sudden rush of wind, but it didn't come from outside. My wife and I looked at each other like, "What was that? Did that come from him?" He innocently looked around the room, seeming as surprised by the sound as we were and looking for its source. I think the whole situation embarrassed him and he was trying to avoid detection. Then it hit. The smell was revolting, causing instant nausea and making our eyes water. Much worse than the stink bombs I used to make back in high school, and those would clear an entire classroom (ok, so maybe the students would jump at any excuse to leave the room... but still). My wife left the room to make our dog go outside while I rushed to open the windows. The weirdest part was that it smelled somewhat like rotten seafood, like a trash bag full of fish bones and lobster shells left out in the sun and ransacked by raccoons. It smells like rotten sea food, but there are no seafood products in this food. Since that first, terrible night we have settled into a new, if uncomfortable, normal. We keep our face masks at the ready around our necks at all times. Warning shouts of, "Dog Fart!" have become common curtesy from whomever first detects the impending danger. Unfortunately for our dog, he cannot escape himself and is likely in some serious discomfort ahead of time whenever he releases his problems upon us. He also gets the worst of it. Being part husky he often sleeps curled up with his nose right in the danger zone. On some evenings, after our kids are in bed and we are sitting watching TV with our dog curled up on the floor, he suddenly jumps up and runs away. This is our warning to put our masks on and leave the room as well. This problem has also led our dog to some very bad manners. Wanting to avoid the danger himself, and knowing that disaster is approaching, he has gotten into the habit of entering a room, releasing his discomfort next to an unsuspecting person there, and immediately leaving the room. This has led to our family being fearful, rather than happy, when our dog approaches us. Though it has altered our lives in some undesirable ways, we will see this bag of food through rather than wasting it or wishing it upon another person. And we definitely won't donate it to a shelter, those poor dogs would be stuck there forever! We look forward to a time when fresh air will be more common again, free from contaminating pollutants, inside our home as well as out. In the meantime, please pray for us. If you purchase this (or any) food for your dog, start with a small bag and see how their digestion system handles it. ... show more

  • German shepherd review
Flavor Name: Chicken & Pork Size: 27 Pound (Pack of 1)
So far, so good. This came in on Saturday, my dog had her first half/half mix yesterday and stool was as expected with food change. Her second feed today was half/half and she ate it all up. I had also salmon oil to her mix because inceptions percentage for added omega 3 was low, it’s okay she uses a special oil mix anyways for her coat (German shepherds are a needy breed) Previous food fed: Rachel Rays Just to give an example of size of the kibble, I know some dogs don’t like small bites and others don’t like bigger pellets , that’s my dog, she hates larger pellets ? She’s pretty boujee and she loves this. We have experienced a little gas from her, but she is also not spayed and is in heat right now. But also with food change gas is expected alongside soft stool, I’ll provide an update once this heat cycle is over, she’s still going to be transitioning with her old food probably for about the next 2 weeks Feed amount: 41/2 - 6 cups per day. Product review: Smell: pretty good, doesn’t have an annoying odor like most dog foods Packaging: secure and didn’t sweat in the box which I liked, our old RR bag always sweat through the bag and caused problems in the dog food bin. Ingredients: pretty happy with most the ingredients, our dog doesn’t like fish kibble? But will eat it with the salmon oil/ don’t ask/ wish it had higher percentage of. Omega 3 or sometype of natural glucosamine for joint health/ skin and coat… So far happy with the product… ... show more

  • Good ingredients
Flavor Name: Fish Size: 27 Pound (Pack of 1)
It is nice to find a good with a meat meal as the first ingredient, with some added fresh meat (contains water so it is not actually as nutrient or meat dense but is at the top due to being the heaviest ingredient) without legumes or lentils, including peas. The amount of peas were found to be the issue in the 15 dog foods (not only grain free but those are the ones most talked about) that were causing heart problems for around 100 dogs in the FDA research survey. It is nearly impossible to find dog foods even grain inclusive that don't have peas as one of the top ingredients in person for us, or without other legumes and lentils which are known among canine nutritionists to not be great for dogs, even travelling out of town to big cities. For those who are afraid to go grain free, this one does have some grains. The grains they use unlike corn, wheat, and rice, are less likely to cause food based allergic reactions in dogs. Our dog is incredibly picky for a shelter animal. He immediately smelled it and turned up his nose. We put a flavored probiotic dog food topper on and he ate it all throughout the day. At least it stopped him from inhaling his food. He seems to be allergic to chicken and turkey, so this was a great alternative protein source food. It is also incredibly difficult to find foods that don't have chicken OR turkey, because it is one the cheapest protein sources available. He didn't seem to have any allergic reactions to the food, which uses an uncommon protein source of cat fish, and a more common but not excessively common protein source of whitefish. It even uses oil instead of chicken or turkey fat as the fat source, which is great for those with dogs allergic to every part of poultry. ... show more
