It's difficult to get a still photo with the wheels lit up, but they do light up properly while being used. The purple color is a great match to the Derby Spark Lilac Purple laces! I only skate indoors so cannot comment on outdoor use, but indoors they are fine. You will not be winning any races with them, but they roll smooth enough. TIP: I have found that if the wheels are not lighting properly, this can usually be remedied by removing and re-installing the bearings and the magnetic spacer. The media could not be loaded. Usually hate doing reviews unless item is very VERY good. This review is no exception. The price was great. The wheels are awesome. Purchased the black wheels with lights. The lights are super bright colorful and get multiple compliments every time I skate. The grip on these wheels outside and at the roller rink is phenomenal. They really let me skate almost worry free falling. (Don’t get me wrong I usually fall at least once each time I’m out skating! But it’s not because of the wheels.) They grip time after time after time with no slip. I occasionally fall because I’m in my mid-50s learning to skate and I’m no pro!! My honest review of these wheels is that the grip is so great they keep me from falling most times and fill in for some of the skill I lack so they greatly assisted taking me from a beginner skater to a more confident advanced skater. I’m purchasing more. No one asked me to review. Im freely sharing my experience to inform other shoppers of what turned out to be a valuable purchase for me. The media could not be loaded. In all honesty, I got these because they're ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING to watch, haha! They hit the spot on aesthetics. I bought them for my Moxi Rainbow Riders that I'll be using for street skating, and I'm hoping they work well for that. Most skates come with 78a wheels, but I find a harder wheel like these, 82a, work better on concrete. I'll update after I use these a while, but they're it's a great deal if you want an extra pair of wheels and easy to install. ... show more

These light up as expected but what I didn’t expect is how much rolling resistance these wheels have. Similar to a crank flashlight, they use your forward energy to generate power and thus light. You’ll work ~20% harder to roll at the same speed compared to non light up wheels.

The media could not be loaded. Installation was super easy. Came with a tool and the exchange took minutes. I’m a casual skater and felt really comfortable as I stood up on them. Got onto the floor, started rolling and they lit up! Loved the look as I cruised around the rink.

Ok so I purchased these for my son. When they arrived he install them himself. We purchased the tool to replace the wheels. Within 10 minutes he had all 8 wheels on. He started skating and said that these ride smooth. We went outside and he was skating in the street. He said they are awesome for outside skating. He said he didn't feel any bumps in the concrete and didn't fall. We skated in the garage and he was learning new moves. I tried them on and said oh yep I'm getting ready to order a pair for myself. Him and I are both beginner skaters but he's more advanced than me. We both approve of these wheels. Off to order these for my skates. Now I need to customize my skates so we can tell our skates apart because we wear the same size. ... show more
