    • Decent way to warm a pool
We got this to warm our above ground pool (about 10k gallons). I knew this little device was meant for smaller quantities of water, but I didn't really want to spend more money, so I thought I'd give this a shot. Glad I did! Pros: I tested the water heater to see how much difference it actually made. To start, the water was 80.2 degrees F. After 30 minutes of using the pool heater, the water was 80.4 about a foot from the heater, and no change 3 feet away. However, after an hour of running, it increased to 80.8 degrees both near and far from the heater. After 90 minutes, it was 81.7 degrees within a foot of the heater, and 81.3 three feet away. So it does work! Cons: We had to use an extension cord to get the heater to reach the pool and submerse correctly. The plug ends of the heater and extension cord got VERY hot, which makes me think running it for an hour or less would be best practice. ... show more

I use this in a 5 gallon bucket to warm up water to wash the car with. It works great and only takes a few minutes to get it really hot. I put it in a pool to see what would happen but it had little effect in the temperature after an hour but remained hot the entire time. It pulls a lot of power and blew a fuse on my house when I had it connected to a power surge so I recommend running it on a circuit that isn't pulling too much power with a high quality extension cable. The included temperature gauge is very useful and I use it to check pool temperature now too. Highly recommend if you have a use for warming small amounts of water. ... show more

Got this to use to heat up water in a 5 gallon bucket to use outside to give my dogs a bath. Easy to use just plug and play and wait for the water to be heated to your desired temperature. I heated up a bucket of water in like ten minutes. Worked fine for what I needed it to do.
