It should have a thermostat on it that automatically shuts it off when it reaches a certain temperature and it also should come apart easier to clean it when it gets corroded and dirty affects the way it heats

Works well. The price isn't bad either. My hit water heater went out in My RV that I live in full time. Yeah, I got a lemon.well,this enables Me to take a shower by getting a rubbermaid tote ( 30 gallon or however big You choose to have enough water for a shower or use a bigger rubbermaidtote to use as a bathtub)putting this in to heat the water (never put Your hand in the water to check desired temperature feel the side of container and unplug the unit prior to use), then getting a water pump that has a shower head on one end(which I also got on Amazon). My water and electric bill is lowered drastically by doing it this way. I'm happy that I can take a shower or bath now in My rv. ... show more
