  • I LOVE these and so does my brat dog
These are freakin awesome! I still use papertowels when I need to absorb grease from food. But I use these cloths for everything else I would nornally have used for cleaning. The packaging indicates that the cloth and packaging itself are both compostable. It is a product of Germany so rest assured, it is NOT manufactured in China. I like to use these around the sink and line them in areas where there is a lot of water drippage, like under the faucet knob. Some of the cloths might have white streaks in them but it doesn't affect the absorbency at all. Its just the way the fibers were mixed during production. I've washed mine multiple times in the washer and they hold up well. The packaging does indicate that you should not put them in the dryer. I accidentally threw them in the dryer the 2nd time I washed them and they ended up shrinking. But even though they shrank, they were still useable and still absorbed liquid just fine. They are very absorbent and strong so they're a perfect replacement for papertowels for use on cleaning duties like scrubbing the stovetop or microwave (I use dishsoap and water). They don't disintegrate like a papertowel would, they don't leave behind bits of paper or lint, they dry quickly (but not flat) when you wring them out completely, they're much easier to wring out than a dishtowel, they rinse out any debris extremely easily, they're larger than the more expensive printed styles which brings me to my last point which is that they're cheap! At close to just 1 dollar and some change, they are significantly less expensive than the designer cute printed cloths advertised as Swedish Dish Clothes. I was gifted one a few yrs ago with a lovely gnome design on it. I didn't actually start using until recently and noticed that it was much smaller than the If You Care brand. The function is the same but seriously, there's no point in paying more for a cleaning cloth when you can get it cheaper. Plus, if you have a dog like mine, you might be replacing them every so often. My dog has nabbed two clothes so far because she's a brat and think its OK to use them as chew toys LOL I ordered 4 packs two months ago and I just ordered 3 more packs today since I like having a giant pile before I do kitchen laundry. ... show more

  • Efficiently absorbs liquids
These sponge cloths work well for cleaning your kitchen sink and countertop. Unlike ordinary sponges, which leave a messy wet track, one wipe with this product will leave the surface clean. The trick is to thoroughly wet the sponge cloth first and then wring it out before wiping. Do not start with a dry cloth! I am impressed with the way this product works, and it seems to last a long time as well. ... show more

  • I have bought several packages and have given away several more
Although it's not really a minus, I do find these a little large so I cut them all in half. I'd probably prefer that they either be larger still, so half would be a slightly better size, or a little smaller with more in the package. They seem to last forever, although finally one gave up the ghost the other day, and had holes. I was able to quickly tear it into very small pieces and add it to my compost, where it looked as if it would soon disappear. I've taken some photos, showing a mess I wiped up from the stove with just a couple of swipes, washing it off, and the sponge cloth looking much cleaner, but with a small hole (this one has been used for months!). I tore it into small pieces very easily and it went into the compost. The last photo is of one that has been used, washed and dried many times. It isn't as pretty after a while, but still does a great job. What I love is not only that they substitute for a lot of smelly plastic sponges and wasteful paper towels, but that they are so much cleaner than sponges. Wet them a bit, wipe up whatever, quickly rinse them until the water runs clear and hang them over the faucet. No smelly sponge, no breeding ground for bacteria. When I'm doing a load of wash, I just round them up and toss them in. Take them out of the washer and lay them out to dry. Oh, and if you don't want to put them in the washer, drape them over some rungs in your dishwasher. They'll be wet, but you can dry them quickly over your faucet. It's amazing how much they can clean. Sprinkle a little baking powder in a greasy pan, spray in a mixture of vinegar, water and a couple drops of Dawn, let it sit, wipe out the sludge with one of these and scrape into compost, then scrub with a little Dawn and hot water. Even stuck on bits will disappear with very little elbow grease! I hope they keep on making these forever. I can't imagine my kitchen without them. ... show more

  • Works well
I have used Swedish dis cloths before and LOVE them- I am giving these only 4 stars because they are not as thick as some of the others I have used. They do work well and dry about as fast as I would expect them to, but the thicker cloths just feels a little nicer. I have not washed these in my washing machine yet so I can't comment on that, but I with my other brands, I will wash them as needed in the washing machine, but them let the air dry They will shrink a bit otherwise. A lot of people commented on their dissatisfaction due to plastic packaging- However, my sponges came in a cardboard envelope with no plastic at all. I have to assume that the company took the feedback to heart and eliminated the plastic, so A+ for listening to your customers! Overall a good product. ... show more
