Top Amazon Reviews

  • This works.
Color: V2(Hub+RGB)
Before I get into the meat of my review, I want to say that if you have no vents on the bottom of your laptop, you should probably save your cash and not buy this. I know it says to just not use the foam, but no. Seriously. You will not get a benefit worthy of the spend without bottom vents. Its a good fan, but its still just a fan and it won't magically blow through a sealed case. If you do have bottom vents? Read on... This thing works. I have to admit I was certain I was going to regret buying this. But my temps are down 10-20C depending on what I'm doing. And this is at less than half fan speed. I'm seeing the bigger reduction on things that normally run hot like games. But I'm also getting a reduction on general low temp activity. Cooling I give this an A++. It honestly just works. I have a Vector pro that will run hot enough to make the keyboard too hot to touch (if I let it.) I have tried other pads and they either do nothing or make it actually hotter. Noise? Hmmmm if you go full speed, this thing is loud. It is. No way to sugar coat it. I mostly run it at about a little bit under 1/3ish and you can hear it. But it's not loud. It's like a "do you hear something? what is that?!" level of sound. Meaning it could still be annoying for some? But not loud. I also think if you need to run this at 100% you need more than a cooling pad. But even at full bore sound, you can manage with headphones. The only big negative with sound for me is there is a bit of an aggravating whine sound at the lower rpms. Because it is controlled with a wheel, it is a slight pain to dial that out. Not a big pain, but its a thing. Lighting? For me who cares. I honestly don't. I had some bad moments trying to get the disco lightshow to go away. (Zero instructions, more on that later) But I eventually found out how to quit the disco and get a color I like. Stability and build quality. My laptop is pretty heavy. It is not even almost moving around on this pad. This thing is sturdy. The pad itself does not slide around and the laptop does not move around on the pad. Everything feels solid and secure. Before purchasing this, I read a 1 star review complaining that it was just a fan in a case with some foam. And yes that is what it is. But its a solid case, a great fan and the foam is what keeps the great fan cooling the machine instead of your desk/table. Maybe the complaint was with the usb hub? I'm not sure. That is another thing I don't care about. If the usb hub part is important to you, read more reviews for that. I personally do not even use all the usb ports on my laptop so I did not even connect the hub part. Ergonomics and adjustments. This is the one area where I will say its a bit weird. Not bad, but a little weird. And its mainly due to the super sturdy braces at the bottom that hold your laptop in place. Even if you lower them to the minimum to fit your machine they still stick upward. Depending on where you rest your hands it can be slightly annoying. Also because of the design of the pad your choices for raising the back are raised, higher, and several increments of nobody will ever do that. Luckily both raised and higher are fine. My one and only real complaint on this is the utter lack of documentation. There is noooooooooooooooone. They do telegraph what foams to use. (important) But omg you are on your own how to work the lights. Godspeed! One thing to look out for.... Look at where your vents are on your laptop. Mine are toward the center/back. That meant moving the little braces at the bottom down one notch, to move the laptop down to get the fan under the vents. There are three positions for the braces. It should cover virtually any bottom vent layout, but look at it and move the braces to position the vents where the fan will work. If you have temp issues with your laptop I highly recommend this product. It works. ... show more

  • If all you care about is cooling, this is it.
Color: V2(Hub+RGB)
I purchased this to replace an IETS GT300 which also cooled very well, but I read reviews on this one claiming that it was even better than the 300. For reference, I have the V2, the most expensive one with all the features on it. In comparison to the IETS GT300, this cooler's foam seal is astronomically better than the rubber seal from the 300. I was kind of skeptical about the foam because I saw youtube vids where the foam came with adhesive on its 4 corners to keep it stuck on the base, but when I got mine, the corners had magnets instead of adhesive! I absolutely loved this change and it cleared any personal worries that I had about the foam getting loose or something. Next, the dust covers. While the GT300 had two air inlets on the top back side, this was prone to suck hot air in if your laptop had rear exhausts, so you had to use two little plastic flaps to prevent the hot air from getting sucked in. However, this pad's intake is at the BOTTOM of the back side, which prevents hot air from getting sucked in. Plus, the dust cover already comes attached to the inlet case, so you don't need to pull both the case and the cover out every time you need to clean it! I absolutely loved this upgrade from the GT300 as well. I also really like the RGB on this cooler. While the GT300's RGB was literally just 2 lights changing colors gradually, this cooler has a thin LED at the bottom of the entire base that is dynamic with really vibrant colors (and obviously can be changed.) Now let's talk fans. While the GT300 had two blowers with only 4 settings at max 4000 rpm, this one has one singular blower and a fan speed 'scroll wheel' for up to 5000 rpm! One thing I will note, and this is practically the only major downside I see to the cooler, is that this cooler is about 2x as loud as the GT300 at max speed, so be wary of this if you're not gaming with headphones or are living with a roommate or anything of the sort. For temps reference (in Celsius), I played COD: Black Ops III on High graphics for about an hour with an Acer Predator Helios 300, Intel CPU: i7-10750H, GPU: RTX 2060. This is a laptop which some of you may know runs EXTREMELY hot (meaning that you may see even better results with your laptop!), as in, it will burn your fingers while gaming even with a standard cooling pad, so I feel that this is a great device to compare coolers with: Average 4-fan 1200 rpm cooler: GPU Max - 66 C GPU Avg - 64 C CPU Max - 88 C CPU Avg - 82 C GT300 (not this cooler): GPU Max - 62 C GPU Avg - 60 C CPU Max - 82 C CPU Avg - 76 C GT500: GPU Max - 57 C GPU Avg - 55 C CPU Max - 72 C CPU Avg - 66 C At the time of writing this review, and with this pad not even at max speed, the laptop is idling at a CPU temp of 32C and a GPU temp of 31C while its built in fans are automatically off due to low temps, and in a relatively warm room, so that should give you a really good idea of how amazing this cooler actually is. As you can see, this cooler is an incredible upgrade from the GT300, any traditional 4 or 5-fan cooling pad with low rpm, or any other product that attempts to decrease your laptop's temperatures for that matter. I really hope this cooler lasts a very long time for me, as it has incredible merit in everything it was intended to do so far. TL;DR Pros: - Good looking RGB - Foam seal that creates 'vacuum', causes air to only be pushed out through your laptop's exhausts, much better seal than GT300 - Dust cover on the air inlet that is washable, much better than the GT300 covers - Power is plugged in from the left side of the base so it doesn't mess with right handed mouse users - Much, MUCH better overall in cooling than the IETS GT300 and other standard pads Cons: - Much bigger than a normal cooling pad, this will not fit in your backpack. Basically the same size as an IETS GT300 - Actually sounds like a jet engine at high fan speeds, even with noise cancelling headphones ... show more
