I'm not into streaming services, at all. I literally had both my Netflix and hulu subscriptions cancelled this year because I had to get a new debit card and I didn't care about renewing my memberships. Not to mention that I barely used either service (especially hulu) because Youtube has become my replacement TV for the most part, but the thing is is that I'm been on Youtube way more than usual, these days and I want to take a break from it. Two good friends of mine got me into DVDs and Blu-rays a year ago and while I mainly use my PS3 to watch them, I wanted to have a device that at least, lets me play my DVDs anywhere in a nice form factor, so I bought this. I've had this thing for a few months to see how it fares and so far, I'm pretty happy with it. Playing DVDs and Music CDs on this little guy all work pretty well, although I haven't tested any discs from other regions nor have I tested all the other features that this thing has to offer yet. But aside from that, the device itself looks and feels like a solid piece of tech (and I love the color, but that's just me. ;) Anyway, the buttons on this device feel great and are easy to understand, the speakers on this thing impressed me with how loud they can get, and while I'm not into screen resolutions whatsoever, the screen on this thing looks pretty good, too. - Final Thoughts Overall, I recommend getting this. To me, there's something special about devices like these and I'm glad that there’s companies out there that actually care enough to still make these, even years later. It's nice to use this in bed and even in my car when I'm on break at work and looking to kill some time without relying on my phone and Youtube to do so. Obviously, this thing is bigger than a smartphone and bringing physical CDs anywhere is never going to be as convenient as everything just being digital on your phone, but for me personally, I don't care. The only major benefit of digital media IS convenience, but that doesn't mean that it's always going to be there when you need it, as I experienced that myself in the past with streaming services. - Edit: 12/30/2024 I still like this thing, but in the few months that I've used it, I have experienced a few problems. There are times where the player doesn't want to play my DVDs whether it be not at all, or random cuts to the video will happen while playing, even though the discs are in pristine condition. When this happens, I have to stop the player, take the disc out, then put it back in and that usually solves the problem, but it's still weird and annoying to deal with when that problem comes up. Granted, I don't use this player 24/7 and I make sure to give this player a break (namely when watching a TV series, I'll turn it off after watching two to three episodes and I'll turn it off after watching one movie), but still. ... show more

If you already understand that this is a small player and will have a small screen you will like this DVD Player. It is bright enough, however it needs to be somewhat close to watch, especially if you want to read subtitles. Cars, camping trips, or any travel it is perfect for. It is easy to operate. The sound and color is pretty good, you may wish headpones for better sound. Although the sound is okay for a normal viewing distance, It is definate worth the price; however you may want to buy a bigger screen. I read a lot of reviews on a lot of portable DVD players before selecting this one and, for my needs, I'm very happy with my purchase. The price is extremely reasonable compared to others. The quality overall is better than expected. I haven't had it for too long but it's definitely been in use, and I haven't had any disc skipping issues. The picture is great. The sound doesn't get as loud as I'd want it if I was using it without headphones, however, I'm always using it with headphones so I didn't factor that in my rating. The volume with headphones is great. I've used it in the car via the headrest mount (sold separately) and it worked great and was easy to attach. I've had no problem with the battery holding a charge. I'm pleased with this product. If you know what you expect out of a portable dvd player going in, this one does what it says and is holding up. We rented a van to drive across the country and purchase this to help entertain my kids during the long drive. Our suburban has video built in but on this trip we crammed our entire family into a 15 passenger van for a family reunion. In North Dakota. The system kept my kids busy, it was built well and held a decent charge. Video quality was good and was nice to have to keep kids entertained. Will continue to use this for air travel and other family vacations in the future. Worth the price! ... show more

This has been a great DVD player! Easy to use for the kids in the car. Does not feel cheap. Really impressed by this product! I appreciate the swivel screen and remote option.
