Note: If the sliding door portion of your vinyl patio door is not plumb with the Vinyl Pet Door Panel, you may need to adjust the bottom rollers on the sliding vinyl patio door. How to Measure Your Ideal Pet -To determine the correct size door simply measure the width (A) and height (B) of your pet. (A) Measure the widest point of your pets shoulder. (B) Measure from the top of your pets back (just behind his head) to the bottom of chest.

Good product looks good. If your sliding door has tight tolerance be ready for lots of modifications. The first one I installed took about 2 hours and cake. On mine (all measurements were accurate but no space for play and it was hacksaw and drimmel time 4 hours did not help the vinyl was warped but 2 hours in the hot sun on black poly and it was very easy to put back into shape. One cat used it right away the other is in training hence being propped open. 3 flap design is MUCH better than flap. ... show more

I have looked and looked. Read countless reviews3³and before I finally settled on this one. The main thing I was looking for was that it stands up to the weather well without letting air blow the flap The door itself is extremely weather tight. I love that it has the double paint glass as well. It was not difficult to install. I thought the written directions were pretty good but when we had a question all we had to do was scan the QR tag and it took us straight to a installation video. That was also very helpful. I am going to add a little bit more weather stripping around the flap because there are a couple of areas that are not completely sealed. Off and small amounts of cold air are coming in. Minor. Loved the price. Our dog has kidney disease and was having accidents in our house. This door allows him to go in and out by himself. It was not easy to put in but had great instructions. This has saved his life.

The video install directions are very clear. I watched it once all the way through, then just watched and paused between each step. It fits great, the dogs like it and it feels more secure and is more energy efficient. I did install it by myself. My dog and I love this door...she was having accidents in the house, but once she got this, she started running outside. I love that it was somewhat easy to install (the only large issue I had was installing the lock for the door). The other drawback is that I live in North Dakota and my patio door now leaks like a sieve. I have not found a good solution to stop the air leaking in; I have tried buying weather stripping, and unfortunately the only solution will be putting plastic over the doors, but if I need to get outside, I will need to tear down the plastic. Very clear instructions provided along with video available on YouTube which I will say is very helpful. I live in an apartment with two very small dogs. Some days they just wanna go outside to be outside on the deck but not actually use their porch potty and it can be a hassle trying to be attentive every single time want out for just a minute to ponder dog life or guard the deck or people watch in the parking lot below, etc. SO, I looked around for this door having seen the instruction video online. It DOES recommend getting a professional to install and I am NOT a professional, but I am handy. Did not want to muck up my apartment property and thus, used velcro adhesive to cling the two hangers and to the original door frame, and the provided screws everywhere else. While it all fits (is flush) together okay, the provided door frame extrusions did NOT "just snap" into place on the door frame extension, requiring much extra effort with pliers for me, and then did NOT accommodate the width of my sliding door (i.e. large gap with original sliding and no longer connecting to already installed lock plate). So, I pried the extrusions off (after I worked SO hard to "snap" them in in the first place lol)! I used the spacers provided behind my original lock plate which helped make up for the fact that the door frame extension did not accommodate my sliding door width either (just abuts it), and then used fuzzy weather striping I bought separately to seal the gaps well enough. It took me 3.5hrs by myself to finagle it all just so, whew! Hopefully it'll pay off for the pups. Currently using the one-flap-at-a-time idea to help ease them in to liking it! ... show more

Took me a couple hours to install. The longest, most difficult part was trying to line up the door locks with the metal hooks that come out when you push the latch on the sliding door. The hooks on my door hook inward to toward eachother. It was a nightmare and ultimately didn't work worth a darn. They hook, but it's wonky, and I don't trust it for security. I put a wood block in the track to prevent the sliding door from opening. But, now that it is installed, I am so pleased with how warm the room is now. I had the single pane door in there for the last couple years and it was always freezing in our living as a result. But it's about 13 degrees outside right now and I am warm and cozy. bought this to replace a very old doggie door - as other have said take time to review the instructions and get familiar with all the parts. for DIY like me its fairly straight forward installation should take bout 2 hours- the 3 flap door is much better than the flap on the old door which was a one piece plastic that was curled so was not very efficient for weather. only complaint is that need to improve the door latch - could not get it aligned right - i believe others have complained about that - just gave up and we use a piece o wood on the sliding door when we go out which we would use anyway for added security. the other issue I have is one of the long weather strip trim part on the outside is popping of and i can get it to snap in place- started coming off when i was putting in the door but now the entire piece is popping out - will try to make it stick with sealant but will call customer support first. ... show more
