  • Great affordable cpu cooler
Just received this cooler today and just finished install. Wow I'm impressed. I previous had ryzen 5 3600 with stock wraith stealth cooler, which did a good job at cooling. Idle temps were 53 c to 63c and gaming 75 c to 85 c (kind of high) but I live in a warm place. The issue I had with the stock cooler was the fan, it has a coiling sound and when the fan ramps up it quite loud. So I decided to try and find a decent cooler, I seen most of the name brands but they were $50 to $100 price range. Seen this one on sale for 22.50 and checked few youtube reviews and saw good results. Another reason I chose this cooler was the design, with the fan it doesn't cover ram slots like other beefier coolers. I have rgb rams and didn't want it to be blocked out. Installation was pretty straight forward, it uses the AM4 backplate and a few brackets and screws. There is a youtube video of how to install, it's a good watch before you do it. I used the thermal paste it came with, which seem adequate but will get artic 4 paste later. Currently my idle temps are 40 c to 49 c and gaming highest yet is 73 c, I'm amazed for this value cooler. The fan it comes with is pretty quiet and I don't have anymore humming noise. The only con I say is the fan cable plug is pretty long for a cpu fan, it's a standard fan cable length so you will have to do some cable management. I just wrapped it around the fan itself, hoping later on I don't hear any rattling noise. It also comes with extra clips if you decide to add a extra fan on the other side for push/pull. For the price, this is a steal and easy install. Huge improvement of the stock cooler. ... show more

  • The CPU cooler is amazing.
Color: SE-225-XT BLACK
I'm using this in my ITX motherboard case. This actually fits in my fractal node case and cools my Amd 7800x3D processor for my media center PC. I really like the fact that there's no lighting on this and the mounting was super easy. Also the price can't be beat.

  • Really good for i5 12400f
Bought for a 12400f - said chip doesn’t really require a beastly cooler so something like this at this price range makes a lot of sense. I’m thoroughly satisfied! I was impressed right away with the packaging - it wasn’t obvious this was a cheaper product from a smaller brand. It’s all packed well and the instructions are clear and clean, printed on a small bit of glossy card stock that unfolds just a bit. It isn’t a gargantuan sheet of paper that unfolds into a world map sized sheet of instructions in 27 different languages, nor is just some bad graphics only instructions. The heatsink itself showed no obvious big machining flaws - no bent fins, burs, spurs, or cowboy boots on it. I installed it without taking the motherboard out. If you’re installing it on a board that isn’t in a case yet it’ll be a breeze. Pretty normal process. Installing it on LGA1700 (and the other Intel sockets that require the back support) already in a case was just a little bit fiddly. You have to use both hands from both sides and hold the back support so the screw (for lack of a better word) doesn’t move into one of the other positions (for the sockets you aren’t using) while you put the mounting bracket in place and secure it with fasteners on the screws that come through the bracket. It’s not too bad at all. As for performance…I am seeing about 20c improvement so far in all cores over the stock Intel cooler (in an NZXT case that is known to have pretty bad intake airflow). Bottom line: surely seems like a great option for the price if you don’t need a higher performance cooler. ... show more

  • Excellent Cooler for the Price
Color: SE-224-XTS
I bought the ID Cooling SE 224 XTS based on the Canucks review of budget tower coolers pointing out the high-polish base plate and overall quality. Compared to my old Cooler Master cooler the ID’s base plate really is impressive. At the current price the package is pretty amazing: a decent fan, plenty of hardware for both AMD and Intel CPUs, and good quality throughout. Mine is working well keeping my AMD4 3600 at ~32C idle. Installation: again, compared with my old Cooler Master cooler (with its rinky-dink lever clamp), the ID Cooling tower is fairly easy to install and once screwed down it feels solid. I suspect the reviews arguing otherwise may be trying to use the cooler in smaller cases; anything smaller than midtower ATX and you might need to resign yourself to pulling the motherboard to install the cooler. I installed this unit without pulling anything out, not even the GPU. No need for a long screwdriver, though having one made the job easier. Be sure to plug in the SE 224’s fan before beginning the radiator installation or you might be very sorry later. With my MSI X470 board I had to tape the cooler assembly back plate in place until screwing in the first screw of the ID Cooling replacement mounts. The instructions that cover this are OK up until the glaring omission of fan-to-radiator installation. Wire-thin spring steel clips hold the fan to the radiator (see photos), and assembling these would be horrible in a small case with mobo left in place; one side was tricky even in my large case. I can see why some users complain about the clips, but they do work. ... show more

  • Great cooling for cheap
Color: SE-225-XT BLACK
This is one of the best cheap coolers i had . In a few months i tried quite a few air coolers and one of them is a Noctua NH-U12A chromax.Black . This thing cools my 14700K better than Noctua , for real . I could not believe that my temps on idle are 30C with this cooler , like 5/10 Celsius lover than Noctua . The only thing i don't like about this cooler is that you can only mount it 1 way . I have Evga z690 and i have to mount this cooler facing upward . Visually it is not great looking that way but temps are good so i find that more important . Other than that all is good . I mean , $35 is nothing considering how good cooling you get for that . Noctua cost literally $100 more and it doesn`t cool the cpu as good . I tried 5 coolers and this is by far the best for my setup . I returned 2 and i sold 2 , i kept this one . Like i said , visually it is not pretty as DeepCool or Noctua , but cools as same as big names companies . ... show more
