  • GREAT CPU cooler for $25
WHOA, it's truly hard to believe that this CPU cooler (w/ fan) only costs $25. I have a GAMMAX 400 CPU cooler (which is also great) but the quality/ease of install blows it away hands down. The fin array is solid and not flimsy at all and clears the RAM slots on my B450 board with no issues and the heat-pipes all (aesthetically) look amazing. The ID cooler 120mm fan comes with rubber inserts to prevent vibration when turned on. As for the cooling itself, I had a AMD Wraith (non-LED) AM4 cooler and on idle it was around 37-41C on idle and around 61C when gaming. This CPU cooler now has my Ryzen 5 2600 (non-X) on 28C idle and upper 40's during gaming, all for $25! I would recommend this CPU cooler to anyone, such a steal for that price. ... show more

  • Very well engineered and increadible value for money
I am building a system on a budget, based on AMD Ryzen CPU. Although the CPU comes bundled with a cooler, I wanted something that is more capable and would work quieter. I looked at practically every cooler on the market under $50. At this price range, it's usually a basic tower with 120mm fan (sometimes 140mm). I was surprised to find that many models still do not have mounting hardware for AM4 socket. Of the models that are AM4 compatible, many come with clip type mounting that you attached to the plastic retention modules on the motherboard. These are poorly designed, in my opinion, because you exert a lot of force on the CPU when installing the cooler, and it is might not be perfectly centered on the CPU. I also found that several models install the tower at 90 degrees to the memory modules (instead of parallel), so the air is not pushed towards the rear fan of the case, but rather up or down. This is often not obvious from the description, because on Intel motherboards these models install with the tower parallel to the memory socket. I ended up with two models that cost $25 that had a decent mounting system. I ordered the other brand first, because the ID-Cooling was out of stock. A couple of days later the ID-Cooling was in stock, so I I ordered it out of curiosity. I'm glad I did. The mounting system for AM4 socket is possibly the best out there. It uses the original backplate that comes with the motherboard, so that makes things easier. You just need to install the standoffs and the AMD brackets. The tower attaches to the brackets with spring loaded screws which, in my opinion, will provide much more even pressure, and will not loosen up over time. The cooling tower is also better built and finished than the other cooler, with the fins better secured against bending. If I can criticize anything, the finish of the base shows machining marks, although it feels smooth to the touch. Overall, for $25 this is an excellent cooler. You can read reviews on tech sites about the performance. It is very respectable overall, and quite amazing for the price. ... show more

  • Cool and quiet
My nieces R5 3600 was running close to 90°C in the Masterbox Q300l on the stock cooler when stress tested. Did some adjustments to the case to improve airflow and got it down 80°C which was still too high. Bought this cooler after I Buildzoid of AHOC recommend it in a pcpartspicker build. Best $24 i spent this year. Not only did it immediately drop the temp but 15°C it did so without the fan going above 1500rpm. Truthfully i cannot recommend this cooler enough. May even pick up one for my upcoming R7 3700X build. Attached are before and after pics of the cpu temps p.s. don't bother with the thermal paste included. ... show more

  • Wow, great value!
This is a super great value for about $25! Installation is a breeze for Intel 115X, well designed. Should be even easier on AM4 since it uses AMDs built-in back plate. Cooling is also great, keeping my older 2600k at 29c idle and 59c at 100% load. Included fan seems good enough, quiet and efficient cooling. Small footprint so zero interference with ram. Needed to upgrade case and PSU and didn't want to put back in noisy water cooler and this is quieter without the noisy pump. Initially I was going with the classic 212 evo but was turned off with the installation guides and so glad I did as this was a cinch. ... show more

  • Great for the price and surprisingly good at it's job.
Review for the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT specifically NOT the rgb version. Pros: Well machined and feels solid except one issue (see cons below) Near silent most of the time. Easy mounting and fan attachment (ridiculously so) Fan sits on cooler with more than enough room for the RAM even if they have tall heatspreaders. Huge drop in temps from the stock cooler (stealth) on my Ryzen 3600. Was hitting 95c and up when video encoding in handbrake and now doesn't climb above 74c. Gaming never gets above 65c and idle is a "frosty" 33.1 most of the time. Cons: (Only two) The heatsink is very well made but the top of the heatpipes are not smoothed and rounded like in the pictures. They instead come to a tapered point which adds another 0.5mm to 1.0mm to the overall height so it is not quite the 154mm advertised. Since many will ask it fits into a Lian-Li pc-011 with the side on but it just touches the glass slightly. At 100% fan speed fan speed the noise level is on par with a stock cooler running at 100% and there is a bit of coil whine. Overall though during games I have never heard it once but still this is still a con to some. To sum up I had heard of Id-Cooling but had not owned any of their products. So I took a chance on this cooler based on limited reviews as it is fairly new to the market and was more than pleasantly surprised. It's an amazing product and I think we will be hearing more about Id-cooling in the future. ... show more
