Obviouly the only reason NOT to get one is the excessive price. Icom is making a huge margin on these I'm sure to help offset other product margins. But I had to have it anyway. Looks and sounds great, and it is a good improvement from the small speaker in the radio.

The SP-38 speaker is a perfect match, looks good and works well with the IC-7300. I would give 5 stars except for the price which seems high for what it is. The main advantage it offers over the speaker in the radio is that it points towards the operator instead of the bottom of a shelf above the radio. ... show more

Front facing ….. tone is much friendlier….. better than 7300 on-board speaker ….. especially when trying to pull in weak signals …..
